It's running normal Open Android, you can install standard Roon apps on it.

My DCA Stealth came back home (long story) so was able to try it out ith the M8T. This is the first portable player I've had that can drive it properly. At high gain around 85 it starts even to get too loud for comfort. The bass is authoritative in metal and the sub bass in trance is deep without being bloated.

I've tried before the Hiby RS8 and the A&K SE300 with the DCA Stealth and almost bout an A&K ultra just to be able to use the headphones on the road. The closest to driving it well was the RS8, if only the volume went to 120 It was listenable but you could the struggle, especially on the bass and sub bass.

Didn't feel any heat with tubes at high gain 80 with the leather case. But I only played it for 5 minutes to test. I'll leave it burning in for a few hours and get back.

When I bought the Stealth I also tried the E3 and it felt more efficient, so I'll ask perplexity:

Higher ohms means less current needed, higher sensitity means lkess power needed so I'd say it would drive the e3 even easier.

The E3 has a noticeably higher sensitivity, which means it should be easier to drive and potentially reach higher volume levels with the same amount of power input.

A leather case comes with M8T? I thought @Shanling was only offering 2 different color cases as extra accessories we had to purchase. I don't see those accessory cases for sale at the Shanling store.

Thanks, but does that include payback without downsampling when running Roon playing back locally? Out when using Roon ARC on the go?

I don't want to answer for @Shanling, but other DAPs in their line up usually have EQ built into their music player, so it wouldn't be global. You would have to use an app like Wavelet for global EQ. There might be other Android apps that provide global EQ / PEQ support, eh, SoundID from Sonarworks comes to mind.

That's what I thought. None of this apps work properly together with streaming apps.
So this player is unfortunately not for me.
