Introducing Shanling M7 - Portable Hi-Fi Android Player

@Shanling I have a question. I want to buy a new player. I'm looking for a warmer tuning with organic mids and a soft treble. Everything is still dynamic. A bit in the analog direction. Which player would you recommend me? The M7 or M9?? I can still get the M9 here in Vietnam with the AK chips. But because of the mobility, I tend to the M7. what is your opinion?? I have to buy here or not. Testing beforehand is impossible. Which of the two has the higher resolution?
I would be very grateful for a tip from you.

Out of these two device the M9 would be more towards the warmer sound.
If you want truly warmer and smoother sound, you would have to look at the older M8.

Also, size difference between M7 and M9, while it's there, neither of them is slim device. It would be like deciding if you want 20 000 mAh battery pack or 26 000 mah battery pack. No matter how you choose, you are gonna carry around big device.

Shanling you can send preorders now:)

We do not sell directly, please talk t your local dealer / distributor regarding any pre-orders.

I hope it leans in that direction but that's not my only criteria. I'm not in a hurry so I'll be waiting for reviews and impressions.

I find it interesting that the M7 and DX240 use the same ES9038pro DAC, share pretty similiar output power specs and run time specs yet the M7 is equipped with a battery near 60% more capacity than the Ibasso battery (7000mah versus 4400mah).

Just because two amps output similar power doesn't mean their designs would drain the same power.

Also, not sure how comparable are battery life measurements between us and ibasso.

What are these things starting to ship? I am looking for some mid fi dap and have couple of other options.
M7 uses 9038pro. So hopefully it will be more reference sounding which i usually prefer.
Would wait for its release if its not far away, before i pull the trigger on something else.

That's true but the ibasso player has swappable amplifiers of varying design (discrete and op-amp). Battery drain does vary depending on the amp used but not by all that much. Point being, I wouldnt expect so much difference in power drain between DAP amps of the same (very similar anyway) ouput power, alone. Unless I missed it, M7 isn't advertised as class A amplification so I assume that doesn't account for it. So, maybe it does come down to differences in battery life measurements, but again, that would be a pretty big discrepancy. Actually, what I was hinting at favored the M7 in terms of output power. I'll just leave it there.

I‘m really happy with the M6 pro 21 and wondering how the M7 sound compares to the M6 Pro 21? Size wise how much bigger is the M7 vs M6.
Also wondering has there been any improvement to the Shanling music player software, is it’s gapless yet? Not a huge deal since there other music app, but it still be nice to have gapless in prime mode.
Hopefully we will see some reviews soon, It looks like it’s be a nice option between the M6 and M9. The M6 and M8 are both excellent units, but it concerns me with future usability since there using Android 7 and no way to update them. With M7 and M9 using android 10 there’s no longer this concern.
