IMR - R1 Thread

How much do you guys spend on tips to get the right one?

You'll not regret the decision. You obviously have sense to take the unwarranted accusations with a pinch of salt so you'll realise quickly they're a work of acustica art.
If you're a bit of a bass head like some of us then you're in for a treat.

Thanks for the warm welcome!!

A bit of a bass head - yes, I would say I really love a full sound. Semi basshead I would say, have the XB-90EX, JVC HA-FX850, ie80, ASG2.5, Aurisonics Harmony, LZ-A3, etc.

I jumped on this after seeing the owner reports here - if everyone loves it, it must be good. :) Thankfully there was b-stock available as otherwise... I have the UE11Pro CIeM incoming as well so spend way too much on IEMS so far...

Cheers!!

fellas I am chomping at the bit here.

I ordered a pair of the R1 B stock weeks ago and they still haven't arrived and I have no means of tracking them. They were handed off to Canada Post from Royal Mail, but the tracking is not working and Canada Post doesn't offer tracking on received international shipments.

Can anyone let me know how long it took to receive their R1 that lives in North America? Its been over 3 weeks now and I'm starting to get anxious.

Likely stuck in customs. It happens with a lot of international parcels, the tracking won't work in Canada until it has passed through customs, unfortunately it is a waiting game and can sometimes take 4-5 weeks.

You probably want to go with the Spinfit CP-100. Once that's narrowed down you need to find the right size. There isn't a lot of help with that online either. And depending on your computer/device screen, they might even look a lot alike. The Large size has the Yellow sleeve. M is Red, S is Maroon and ES is purple. Really weird that the colors don't distinctly indicate the size. Finding the best tip for these R1 was more of a chore than I've ever experienced. For me the Red (M) Spinfit cp-100 seem to be the ticket.
Well i went with Large so hopefully theyre right!!
Ordered from AliEx so probably will have a little wait till i find out.
I use the Large on my Symbio Ms.
Thanks for your help

Changed of convo here:

Whats everyone's go to test albums/songs for the R1 (or any head gear).
Curious to see what people are listening to with these
Ill go first:

Jazz : Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
Mahavishnu Orchestra- Inner Mounting Flame
Rock : Pink Floyd - most albums
Neil Young/Doors
Beatles/Jimi/Led Zeppelin/OCS etc
Mainstream : Beyonce - Lemonade
Alt : Bonobo/Massive attack Prodigy/Portico Quartet

And some classical cant remember names.
There is lots more but I find that this is a good mix for testing

Yes yes. New Order is the successor of Joy Division. And while they are all a lot older. They can still rock quite well.

For Bass I like to play Tiesto - Boom

Quite descriptive. But the bass drop is lovely. Even though I have a bit more eclectic music taste otherwise.

Aside from all that were previously mentionned, the title track from Arcade Fire’s Reflektor... within the first 20 seconds in the Reflektor track, R1 are showing you what these monsters they are capable of!
