@iFi audio Is firmware v5.2 Limoncello still available on new products with the latest serial numbers ?

We are still working on the Limoncello equivalent for the new products with the latest serial numbers. Will provide an update here when we have one!

Can anyone tell me why in TIDAL Exclusive mode, the Zen DAC skips a fraction of a second when I play a song or when I skip to another minute in it. It's almost like for a full second the track plays in the background but the DAC is not capable to decode the info that quickly and it just skips. Is there a way to fix this ? Kind of bothering

Does it occur during MQA playback?

Something similar happens on Dragonfly Red/Cobalt, but the audio just doesn't start until the DAC switches to MQA playback.

The status LED quickly switches to Amber or White (88.2/96) and then to Purple in that time, which is the color for MQA, and then audio starts playing.

I am waiting for my zen DAC to arrive and I have a doubt, since in my country the blessed 4.4mm cable is not available and I must connect my active monitors (YAMAHA MSP5) with RCA.
The question is RCA to XLR or RCA to PLUG cable? Should I connect to the balanced (XLR) or unbalanced (PLUG 6.5) input of the monitors?

Thanks a lot!

It also happens to me with an M-Audio audio card. Thought that with an MQA compliant DAC I would stop doing it.:thinking:

iFi still hasn't reached back about the drop in playback in MQA mode. It's a little annoying as I mostly use Tidal to play music
It seems to me that it is a TIDAL thing since the same happens to me without a dedicated DAC.
Start the song and crank up the volume. And between song and song you hear a click, if I'm not mistaken it happens only in master mode.

If you guys with MQA issues go back about 5 Pages you'll see the same discussion and possible solutions.

The MQA issue is not confined to the Zen dac, it happens on other dac's as well, but how you listen to Tidal can affect the size of the issue.

What about the new firmware 7.0 and 7.0c?

It's for devices above certain serial numbers. Please go here: https://ifi-audio.com/download-hub/

...then select your iFi produt, type in its serial number and firmware for you will be listed :)

If you don't have a 4.4mm-to-XLR cable, then I'd stick RCA-to-RCA cable :)
