The sonion woofers should be the best for bass for BAs , the thieaudio voyager 14 has them.
What I experienced is that most multi BA trying to emulate not the best examples of "dynamic bass". Soft lacks ultimate texture. Unfortunately, Er4 new generation inherits almost the same bass character.
"Soundstage" is relative to fit just like everything else. Er4 doesn't fall short in this term compared to CA Andro or Solaris for example. That's how I hear it.
I'm comparing not just within the realm of iems. ER4 new gen doesn't sound on par with some of the best planar headphones, most drawbacks are bass & high frequencies.Never noticed that with the new ER4's, They sound better than what a lot multi BA try to do. I've yet to hear one out do a ER4/ER3 with 2 to 6 db bass boost. I like the ER3SE more than i did with the ER4PT.
I find the staging of etymotic's overhated never had any issue like most say?. I've been surprised with them on quite few albums i listen to.
Do you mind elaborating by whose standards bass isn't supposed to be flat like that?
ER2SE vs ER4SR vs ER4XR vs actual Etymotic target (not accurate below 200 Hz since the bass isn't supposed to be flat like that). The ER4XR measurement might be inaccurate but the ER4SR seems to be the accuracy king still.
DF target has some bass roll-off below 100 Hz.Do you mind elaborating by whose standards bass isn't supposed to be flat like that?

I think the Etymotic target pretty much craps all over the Harman IE target. I tried that EQ and it sounded awful. Their target is treble murder. Just buy the ER4SR and enable a bass shelf if necessary.I have been using the ER4-XR for a while now, with a Radsone ES100. However - I didn't fall in love with these IEMs until just the other week, when I used the ES100 to apply Oratory1990's latest eq correction curve (Harman in-ear 2019 v2). These babies finally sound the way I want! Thank you Oratory!!! Here are the settings, in case anyone is interested:

Yes. The top box is the old packaging and the bottom is the new packaging. The only difference (as far as I'm aware) is that the new packaging comes with the new bi-flange tips.I couldn't help but notice two different packaging styles for the 4XR.
Could someone shed some light on whether there are any differences between the two?
For my, the ER4 just rapes the C.A Andros, in any aspect. What I experienced is that most multi BA trying to emulate not the best examples of "dynamic bass". Its character can be described as "rounded', soft lacks ultimate texture. Unfortunately, Er4 new generation inherits almost the same bass character.
"Soundstage" is relative to fit just like everything else. Er4 doesn't fall short in this term compared to CA Andro or Solaris for example. That's how I hear it.
I've tried a few of oratory's eq settings; all of them made made the treble sound unnatural and more fatiguing (though I can't pinpoint where the problem area).I think the Etymotic target pretty much craps all over the Harman IE target. I tried that EQ and it sounded awful. Their target is treble murder. Just buy the ER4SR and enable a bass shelf if necessary.
Thanks so much!Yes. The top box is the old packaging and the bottom is the new packaging. The only difference (as far as I'm aware) is that the new packaging comes with the new bi-flange tips.
