I recently called the local distributor to follow up on the iDSD micro I reserved through both iFi and them. They said that they have no idea as to when they'll be receiving the stock. Lucky me. 
 
Just to add to my luck, my Centrance DACport LX won't turn on so I'm essentially DACless. I'm currently living with an iPod and LOD and you really don't know what you have 'till it's gone.

What does "95% of the micro will be burned in" mean? how can something be 95% burned in? 
 
it sounds great right out of the box. believe what you want, but it's not going to magically sound better after 100 hours or 400 hours or whatever.

The RCA and the Headphone section are not identical. They are separate sections.

 
As RW737 asked, if one uses headphones to perform the burn-in, then the RCA section is of course unused.

 
Hence ~95% as this is the circuitry that is shared by both.

 
nb: One can put a 10k load on the RCAs simultaneously and burn-in 100% of the micro iDSD.

To avoid "warm-up", any manner to let the unit ON 24/24 and not take juice from the battery ?
 
The "perfection" for me is a switch to take power from usb or the battery. This way, permit me to listening music from usb power when not doing critical listening or simply to keep the unit ready.

There is no appreciable warm-up.
 
But if you insist, you can have music playing 24/24 (so it does not go to sleep under SmartPower).

There is a fair amount of complex programing done to the Micro iDSD. I seen not seen that level of complexity very often in a DAC/amp. Looks like IFI tries to maximize battery and the device life.   It is a good read to view all the links at the first post. My nano really does not go to sleep as far I can tell and stays warmer than my micro at idle. My tube amps take about 40 minutes of warm-up to sound its best is a special case. I have not noticed the micro iDSD needing a warm-up to be concern about.

Ifi-team: You suggest to convert MP3 files to DSD. My audio PC is very slow (dual core 1.6 Atom, Win-7 32 Bit, 2 MB RAM, small SSD for Win and JRMC; music is stored on an USB disc). However, the PC is very quiet and great for playing standard PCM Files (cpu utilization less than 2% for standard CDs ripped to FLAC). Would native DSD bitstreaming be possible (using Jriver and the Ifi-ASIO driver) when I convert the MP3-Files to DSD in JRMC before playing? If not, could you please tell me what the minimum hardware requirements are? (I do not need conversion on the fly!)?

Here are some more pictures of my home setup:
 
Cyrus 8 amp with extra Cyrus power supply and KEF Q500 speakers (connected with Kimber 4TC)
 
the micro iDSD is connected to the Cyrus amp and an iPad as source playing some German Speed metal (Qobuz, lossles Flac) and John Coltrane in native DSD (Onkyo HF Player, unfortunately I wont use DSD playback from this app any further due to issues with loud pops)
