I know. But when you say existing cables I, wrongfully, assumed you meant the cables that come with a phone. Those cables are roughly 4 foot depending on the manufacturer. OTG (USB On the Go) stands for a cable that has a micro usb/usbc connection on one end (for the phone) and a usb a female connection on the other end. This allows phones to connect to external devices like external hard-drives or external DACs like the BL.

i see. Thats where the confusion is. On this side of the sea, one end has either micro USB/ USB C and the other end has USB A Male. I have had plenty of OTG cables but all of them, alright not all of them, but the majority of them have usb male on one end.

It's more than that.

An OTG cable is wired differently.

If it doesn't say 'OTG' on the tin then it isn't OTG and will not work in that way.

PC/charging cables for phones are not OTG and will not work with a USB DAC (or any other USB client device like a USB memory stick).

Thanks a lot guys for pointing this out. Saved me a lot of trouble. I knew it but was too stubborn to accept it :)

"USB OTG is a part of a supplement[2] to the Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0 specification originally agreed upon in late 2001 and later revised.[3] The latest version of the supplement also defines (Host Negotiation Protocol, etc) behavior for an Embedded Host which has targeted abilities and the same USB Standard-A port used by PCs."

Wonder if ifi support page is down?

EDIT: Sorry for being a bit like the energizer bunny but i am excited to play around with the BL. I am having problems with the 1/4" adapter provided with the package. Can someone please suggest a good 1/4" adapter

Damn, that sucks. I do find some of my headphones plug into the 1/4 adapter fairly tight. I find my self pushing harder to get the 3.5mm seated all the way in. I just use the countless many i have acquired throughout the years.

First album DSoTM - Floyd.. Mesmerising!
The endless River
Inception OST- Hans Zimmer. I had to stop and look around if i was in the real world or aural heaven. Brilliant depth and imaging!

As you had suggested turning the XBass on gives the sub bass a boost. Brilliant stuff on some tracks.
