  Agreed, a lot of times paper stats looks better than they actually pan at. That being said, when I reviewed the BL I found it powered the HE1000 sufficiently (didn't even need the Turbo setting) The LCD-4 is harder to drive so it will definitely require the Turbo setting but we will see how it performs for sure with the LCD-4 when I get the BL.

The HE6 out of the iCAN SE (same power output as BL) also didn't need the highest gain for full power on that, in fact putting any headphone on the full gain wasn't good, causing tons of distortion. During that test run, though, there may have been some missing earth issues, so I have to pour some salt on my observations. I haven't been able to make the test again with that potentiality controlled for.

The HE-6 distorts if it isn't getting enough power. The LCD-2 though is perfectly happy with the BL.

The Adorama LCD-2 and BL combo is the best bargain around for $999. It's how I got mine.

Aluminium 2016 LCD-2 and BL delivered for $1039 and worth much more than the sticker.

Yeah agreed, that bundle is a sweet deal, basically a free Black Label. Unfortunately I just don't need the LCD-2 either, it would never get any head time with the LCD-4 around now.

I haven't had LCD4, but I found use for my LCD2F even with LCD3F and LCDX around. To be honest, there's something I like best of all about the LCD2...

In the end, I only kept one of the three (LCDX) but if I needed another setup to stash at work, a 2nd home or something... BL and LCD2 would be great for that!

At $400, this has to be the best value in audio. It's completely worth full price, let alone that steal of a deal. I really enjoy my BL. In some ways, I think it's the best of ifi... all rolled into one tasty burrito.

- people get to listen (and some of them eventually buy) your BL
- you get some buzz going around , generated by those people who tried BL and their reviews

and on top of that , you reward/push people to review it by offering the demo BL for free

It also helps that BL is a killer product - i mean you can sugar-coat a chocolate cake but you can not sugar-coat a turd-pie , right ?
