In addition to SD Card rolling, I recommend exploring region variations in one's shoes. I find my New Balance UK edition have a sweet midrange but with a very repressed presentation overall, whereas my US made New Balance are all about the bloated low end, which is prone to exaggerated peaks. Some later posts @fuhransahis take em as you will

My recommendation is to send her to @twister6 way - its usually my go to and saves me mailbox space, aggravation and timeInteresting... thanks! I'll look into getting the 512GB version of the Extreme Pro if I choose to keep the DX300 Max.
At this point I've removed doubt as to whether all of these seemingly minute changes might have an effect... crazy how everything can have an impact... and also just makes the endless search maddening... but the search itself is a massive part of it for many of us let's be honest.
Different batteries on the Cayin C9 (they did indeed sound different to me)
Cables (very much so, though I deliberately cap myself at $500)
Interconnects (also yes, very much so)
DAP chassis material (haven't tried that one out)
Clothing when listening (Crocs with socks makes the sound and the user's social life muffled, distorted and highly imbalanced; birthday suit for best transparency)
Now Micro SD cards, and etc
Wait until I tell my wife about this 35th rabbit hole I've learned of, if she has any questions I'll send her HeadPie's way
Now now, there's enough blame to go around for both of you!My recommendation is to send her to @twister6 way - its usually my go to and saves me mailbox space, aggravation and time
not sure if Alex appreciates it, but it continues to amuse me lol
Congrats mate! The holy grail for the Odin you think? Mine should land today! She’s here
It sounds fantastic out of the box. Can’t imagine how good it will sound after burn in because this is already top notch. Definitely sounds smoother in the treble compared to DX220 Max from memory. It has a very clear and clean tone, sounds highly resolving and expansive. Reminds me a little bit of SP2000.
And I MUCH prefer this tonality to the regular DX300 with amp11 mk1. I find amp11 mk1 a little too tubey and warm for my taste.
Loving it!
At this point in time, yes imo. The dynamics, stage expansion and layering are off the charts. And the overall tonality is absolutely stellar. MAX has dethroned N6ii R01 for me as favourite sounding DAP for Odin. Can’t wait to hear your impressions, man!Congrats mate! The holy grail for the Odin you think? Mine should land today!
Haha! Well, as I’m sure you’re aware, this hobby is a rabbit hole and the itch to try new gear is never fully satisfiedyou have a DMP, and you felt a dx300 max was necessary? gosh!!#
ps. how much for your dx300? is the N6ii now for sale?
I was able to audition the Odin on my DX300 Max... yeah it sounds really lovely. But I got my sights on the 1266 so the odin have to wait a while longer. It really sounds like a high end headphones, without the weight issues. She’s here

customs into the UK will probably sting me for 50% of that cost. UK is crap. Specifically, England.Haha! Well, as I’m sure you’re aware, this hobby is a rabbit hole and the itch to try new gear is never fully satisfied
DX300 classifieds listing is here: https://www.head-fi.org/classifieds/ibasso-dx300-dap-with-amp11-mk1.9344/

I'm selling mine (DX300 MKII) when I'm back in the country on Sunday, if you are interested and can wait that long. Mint condition with box and all accessories incl. and a tightly-fitting original case.customs into the UK will probably sting me for 50% of that cost. UK is crap. Specifically, England.
