I previously owned a DX90 and the loading of 2 x 400gb cards (virtually full) by the DX120 astounded me. Very, very fast.

Yeah.... That's actually been an issue I've been having with the DX80. I switched to 2 400gb cards from 2 256s, and I found that the DX80 would stop loading my All Music folder. That alone might make it worth switchingI previously owned a DX90 and the loading of 2 x 400gb cards (virtually full) by the DX120 astounded me. Very, very fast.
I have been using 2x 128GB cards in my DX120 - takes 1-3 minutes in total to scan both...from newly installed FW for example
One card though is all 24/96 + DSD so there are not THAT many files. The other card has a lot more 16-44 Flac and takes a little longer
He may mean the browsing. I know that the DX80 takes awhile to scan my cards, but actually moving through the folders is somewhat quick depending on the folder's size. I was also hoping the new improved Mango OS also meant that the DX120 would be more responsive.Hi BozerKeith,
Do you mean the time to scan the 2 cards or the time to browse their contents once your press the "Directory" button?
For me to browse the 128gb card is also almost instant, but It took the DX120 20+ minutes (!) to scan the whole card.
What's the exact brand and model and speed of those 400gb cards? How did you format them? exFAT? NTFS? FAT32?
I have got this 128gb microSDHC UHS-I, 80 MB/s, Class 10:
Mine is almost full, formatted as FAT32 though (I will format them as exFAT from now onwards, according to the @Lurker0 's advice).
Oh, I see, that's a BIG difference. Mine are all MP3 320 kbps. 115gb used, 15.524 files. What filesystem are you using?
The cards are Sandisk Ultra 400GB Class 10. I did not format them specifically, in fact I have probably purchased 30/40 cards over the years, and I have never formatted a card . Out of the packaging I loaded the Files onto them using my Card Reader in my PC. I then placed them in the Dx120 and I do NOT even remember scanning the cards. I presume I must have done, but it certainly took no time at all. I went into Directory, it showed Card 1 and Card 2. I chose Card 1 and it showed the alphabetical list of Artists. The Folders and files were exactly as I placed them on the card. I have owned a DX50 and DX90 and yes scanning was slow.Hi BozerKeith,

Can you believe that the only company I can find in the UK is Custom Cans. They will do rewiring, but getting them to give you a quote or Purchase from them is a pain. They take an age to answer a query, so reaching a conclusion is extremely difficult. As there are a limited number of Headphones with dual cables (certainly Closed back phones), how do all the Audiophiles with Balanced Headphones get their SE Phones converted? If you find someone let me know please.! Got a few that need re-cabling

Thank you ,Sir.
20 minutes for 15000 tracks sounds about right, i have 15 times less files and the scan is 15 times faster.
