For $.02,  I would go with an X3 and the Vsonic Gr07 BE's.  Your budget is $400.00 this combo will put you right there with the X3 costing $160 +/- and the GR07's at $127.00 +/-.  The X3 has great power for a portable player (550 mW@16 ohm).  I use mine with a Cayin C5 or E12.  You won't need to if your hearing is normal.  You will have money left over to buy a 64 gb SD card and some HD tracks music :).  The Vsonics are tanks and will last a very long time.
Good luck

I prefer walk-ins.
And with walk in, the Gr07 BE is SGD$163, and the Fiio X1 is Sgd$159, Fiio X3 is sgd $359.
Decided to go with Fiio x1 ;)

Oh, Stereo. Yea sounds about right now. I guess the X3 has the DAC functionality going for it so all youtube music videos from the pc get a sound upgrade. :D

That aside, the X1 is an extremely worthy entry-level player. If it had been around when I bought my X3 i might have gotten that too.

For iems, have you tried the Havi B3 Pro 1? They're twin dynamic driver iems and have ridiculous price-performance ratio. Only thing is that they have higher-than-typical impedance so they'll be weaker with your phone but the X1 will be able to drive them with ease.

Second "I can't make up my mind" purchases, perhaps someone can help me? (Again? :P). This time looking for a "coloured" sound, with good clarity and soundstage, v shaped sounding.

1. Thinksound Ms01
2. Thinksound Rain2
3. Audio Technica Ckr9Ltd
4. Fischer Audio Consonance
5. Any others less than SGD $200

If you look on the main Head-fi home page, you'll see the winter buying guide.  There is a lot of good information there with excellent sound descriptors.
I personally love the Vsonic GR07 BE.  They are not bass heavy at all as you would think based on the name.

And thus, too many options.
I'll check them out anyways...

Have you tried going to audition a few models at LMUE? Music is very subjective after all so just trust your ears.

Alright, I will try out (tons) of iem to see what I like. (Orchard road Stereo & Plaza Singapura Lmue ^.^)

Plaza Sing also has a Stereo so can save you a trip there. :D

Jaben is also close by at Adelfi, tho LMUE has better prices imo.
