I am looking forward to learn what your BNC cable brings to the party. :beerchug:

I really like my cable ... up to 44 kHz. HiRes is overrated anyway - and MQA, and everything the cable doesn´t play... :)

Not sure about that. However, I prefer 44.1 kHz through the M Scaler to 96 kHz without M Scaler. Hi-Res plus M Scaler still sounds better. I'm surprised about the improvement the M Scaler offers even with Hi-Res.

I'll echo this. The sample files at 2L really highlight the difference between mScaled content. I have attributed this to the damage done in (non-integer) decimating down to 44.1kHz.

On my (infinitely long) testing to do list is to take some 192kHz content and decimate it down to 96 and 48kHz and 44.1kHz, then take all four down to 16 bit, and compare the 8 versions to each other through the mScaler.

Alas, we don't have winter here in San Diego, so it is hard to find time to get through these testing "to do" lists

Sorry, this was just a way to try to be ironic. I just couldn´t find the right "ironic-emoj"
xxx1313 just provoked me to do this. You have to blame him. :beerchug:

I caught your irony. (Did you have Blackadder in Sweden? I’m thinking of Irony, Bronzey and Goldy. )

Maybe a stupid question, sorry. Does the SMPS of HMS supply up to 1.5A oder up to 4A?

1.5A from the mains. 4A to the device it's feeding.

Sorry don’t know what the HMS actually draws. The figures on the smps don’t actualy tell you what the HMS draws, only what the max draw of the smps is and what is the max it can supply at 15V.

I hope that @Rob Watts can answer.

Simplest explanation is that the cable is no good, and that the guy that made it hasn’t got sufficient resources or knowledge to ensure that it works correctly with an M Scaler/DAVE..

The simplest explanation is not automatically the right one. A number of people have had BNC connection issues with Blu2-DAVE in the past, including the supplied BNC cables. I was one who trialed the Bu2 and experienced intermittent drop outs with the supplied cables. So here we are again with yet more variations of BNC connection issues with HMS. Based on that, the simplest explanation would be that there's something inherently difficult or sensitive with the M-scaler-DAVE pairing.

But rather than speculate simplistictly, I'd like us all to get to the bottom of this, and it doesn't help to start the investigation by assuming that one side or the other must be wrong.

I don't own any of Peter's cables, but the considerable user feedback at CA on his Lush^2 USB cable is enough to keep me interested if the same magic can apply to his BNC Blaxius^2.

I think you've been rather dismissive about "the guy" without seemingly having done much background research to back that up.
