I guess it's just preference. The HE-1 isn't laid back like the Sus. I don't even know if the HE-1 should be considered the standard, but it is at the moment.Close to losing the laid back nature of the sus ?_? But that's what I love about it 0_o

That's why I wrote if you can get the Susvara have that immediacy and presence of the Aperio, you're side-grading with the HE-1. There are amps that can literally get the Susvara super close to HE-1 in terms of that immediacy and presence instead of being laid-back

Anyone had the opportinity to compare Riviera A1c and Aries cerat genus? Drivning Susvara

I've spent 5 minutes with an HE-1. HE-1 can do heavy bass tracks well without distorting, and it it's sufficiently more bassy than a Susvara, but I think that my current stack of May/Bliss the Susvara is very competitive. If I were to throw tubes into my chain and add a bit more power, I think the Susvara would outclass the HE-1. As for other technicalities of the HE-1, I didn't like how it did some rock music, and the timbre was a bit off. Maybe that can be fixed with the tone controls of the unit, but that being said, for the money you ARE getting a high end sound that works well off the bat. But it doesn't embarrass the Susvara at all. I can't speak for other high end electrostatic like Aperio, Shangri-La, etc.
Agreed!
The game is to overtake the HE-1 for less than 6K including the Susvara in the price (we all know a brand new, not used Susvara can be had anytime for 40% off at least) so you have 40% of 6K remaining for a DAC and amp and this system will overtake the HE-1
This the reason why I wrote my previous post above. It sounds like heresy but your experience tells me that’s definitely doable to surpass HE-1 with 6K budget system

Not mine, but an interesting find. I asked Schiit if I can use something like this on my Rag2 since the output impedance is lower from the speaker posts, and they told me not to try as it might cause short circuits.

I have a cardas clear and wywire platinum for my susvara, but curious what else people recommend. DHC Chimera? Norne?
Lazuli Nirvana or Chimera are the best ones and are more compatible with lots of amps since they're both hybrid wires like the stock cable

Currently on page 9 of the overall Classifieds page, big boy. Either the seller bumped the listing or someone figured out his 2FA and is trying to pull off a very specific grift.Last message on this was back in July, checking if still available.
I only heard the Lazuli Nirvana with Focal Utopia. I use a pure OCC copper (Eletech Inferno) for my Susvara since my amp is already brightly tilted

Chimera is the best. Clear Beyond and Prion 4 are excellent at total opposite ends of the spectrum. Lazuli Nirvana is of equal tier IMO, but it wasn't for my taste with my amp.I have a cardas clear and wywire platinum for my susvara, but curious what else people recommend. DHC Chimera? Norne?

It’s hard for to think it could get better than the Danacables Lazuli Nirvana. It’s a top tier cable. The Chimera is probably the only cable in its class. But I guess it all depends on the synergy between your equipment which one will suit you.Lazuli Nirvana or Chimera are the best ones and are more compatible with lots of amps since they're both hybrid wires like the stock cable

Have you heard the Heimdall 2 cable? It’s also pure copper.I only heard the Lazuli Nirvana with Focal Utopia. I use a pure OCC copper (Eletech Inferno) for my Susvara since my amp is already brightly tilted
