Thinking of buying these. Anyone paired with Sony ZX300 or iBasso DX200?

Ananda sounds amazing. I really hate the Hifiman earpads though, the little plastic things have to line up perfectly to install them, super annoying. Ananda is the best headphone I have ever heard hands down, that being said... its my first ever 1 grand headphone... so yeah no comparisons I can offer. I love everything about it, except soundstage is just a smidge too small to be acceptable

Tried swapping pads on the Sundara and saw its planar magnetic diaphragm.

Hifiman He400i diaphragm for comparison

Looks like the Sundara has more conductive traces on it. I suspect it would enhance the magnetic field strength?

I saw this on Rtings as best midrange (may not be agreeable for all). I guess the treble being more of the evened out of others is a strong suit.
My only gripe with the sound is that some sharper female vocals may come across as brittle. Like on the song 2002 by Anne Marie. Or is it because the song itself is poorly recorded?

Otherwise I'm having a blast.

I just listened to this song with my SHP9500's with Shure 1540 alcantara pads, Dragonfly V1.2 - 0 sharpness or brittleness, not a poorly recorded song at all, sounds amazing to me, and thank you... because I just added it to my spotify female vocals playlist

Hahaha glad you enjoyed it

Then it's probably due to the thinner sound of the Sundara's.

You could try changing earpads, that is what helped my shp9500. Maybe look into ZMF or Dekoni pads? I have some brainwavz XL sheepskin pads, they might help take the vocals some.

Yeah that's actually what I was trying. I'm currently using 1 inch thick protein-leather pads. The bass quantity seems to have increased but it's also not as tight anymore. The treble also got somewhat veiled.

Edit: god the stock pads are hard to put back.

You have to do it under good lighting conditions. I used a blunt table knife to help position the last clip. Each pad has 4 clips, of which the first 3 are relatively easy to position.

You push the last clip inwards and then downwards into position with the knife.

Yeah, I tried the 1 grand Hifiman Ananda's. and getting the earpad back on with their system is annoying as can be, terrible design they should have improved ages ago
