Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600

I was hoping someone would help me with this:
What sort of foam should I use to replace the one in the RE400?
I tried cotton from cotton sticks but I'm not satisfied with the sound.
With no foam at all, I don't like it either.
Anyone can help me with this?

I got in touch with Hifiman who asked me an extortionate 30$ with shipping for 4 pairs of foam.

Ridiculous.

Hi all! I'm a long (looong) time RE-400 user. They're by far my favorite IEM of all time. I bought them for the first time in 2016 (I think) and my little brother lost them. Bought them again in 2017/2018, and have been rocking the same pair ever since. I'm looking for some closed full-size headphones with a sound signature that's as similar to the RE-400s as possible (I freaking love how these sound, they've been my only earphones for the past 3 or 4 years). I'm considering the beyerdynamic DT770, but from what I've read they're not really similar to the RE-400. Any recommendations? They need to be closed because I work in an office with several people around me.

The DT770 is a fantastic studio can. I use the DT770 and DT880 in my home studio.

The DT880 is much closer to the RE400 than the 770. The 880 is semi-open though.

The Sony 7506 might be a headphone to investigate:
7506

or the Audio Technica M40x:
M40x

What are the main differences between the DT770 and the RE-400, if you care to elaborate? I realize I'd have more options if I could go the open back route, but that's not possible right now so the DT880s are a no-go, sadly. I've also read some really good things about the DT177X Go.

I'll check out the Sony and AT as well. I'm not in a hurry, I'll do my research and come to a conclusion in a month or two. Thanks for the help!

@Alez

The DT770 Pro are quite noticeably more v-shaped. Definitely fun headphones with a nice punch and bright, sparkly treble, but a good bit less balanced/natural neutral than the RE400.

As someone who owns the RE400i (I use them with the largest included dual-flange silicone tips) too, I'd recommend looking into the Shure SRH440 (fairly neutral tuning but with a roll-off towards the low bass) or MrSpeakers AEON Flow Closed (less warmth in the lower mids and fundamental range when compared to my RE400i and with a more relaxed upper midrange, but overall my favourite full-sized headphones when it comes purely to tuning (for what it is worth, they sort of replaced my Sennheiseer HD 600 as neutral-ish sounding headphones for stationary listening)); the latter aren't in production anymore, though, and their successors are supposed to have a bit more warmth and bass impact compared to them, but that may not even be a bad thing and they should still sound neutral/natural neutral enough in the bass.

Bass being foremost.

DT770

RE400

Also, the DT770 needs decent power to bring its mids more inline with the bass.

Here is the DT880 graph for comparison.
