Hifiman HE1000 Planar Dynamic Headphone

Estimated in the next 2-3 months, jumped in because the 1st batch were all being taken up with pre-orders. I don't see it as an Abyss replacement, I see it as a LCD-*** replacement and if it does that it will compliment the Abyss nicely.

You aren't in the least worried about being at the 'bleeding edge' for these?  Will there be warranty support in Oz?

The first production batch of a new technology worries me a little. If things are going to go wrong, it more likely to be the first production run that has the issues. Call me paranoid

btw kinda off-topic, but seems like mr. speaker's is releasing an open t50rp at $1.5k. for people generally interested in planars :)

1500USD for an oem driver? Rent must have gotten expensive or the grill is made of pure gold

I must have missed updates from you, because last I heard, you liked the LCD-3 more than the Abyss.

I'll try to follow your progress, since I'm interested in more comparisons of the Abyss and HE-1000.

edit: may be an original driver.

It is a unique driver with "V-Planar" technology.

allnic audio hpa5000 amp and allnic audio d5000 dac.  if the ef-1000 amp ends up not being to my liking, I think this would be it. less versatility and simpler design. I prefer se amps. and allnic audio stuff is very nice. I have never heard neither but I d'ont need to. I know it's world class sound. allnic audio has two amps. hpa 3000 and hpa5000. this one the hpa5000 is the candidate for he1000.

.
Right !
I am really keen to see/hear how the HE1000 will pair with my HPA5000 :)

Link to the video Jude was talking about earlier - http://www.head-fi.org/t/741136/canjam-socal-2015-march-28-29-2015-only-4-days-away/1065#post_11442629

Best bass performance from any headphone he's ever heard?  Sounds like it will be a pretty impressive piece of kit.  I also like how the new version looks less like a ladies' fashion accessory than the first version we saw.

Man, as if the hype train wasn't building up a good enough head of steam already!

+1 on Addicted to Audio, brilliant team and highly recommended by me also. It helps that Billy, formerly from Auckland's excellent Computer Lounge (best headphone audio retailer in NZ), is now there at Addicted to Audio too.

Hi,

Did anybody (those that are still happy to speak to me) manage to listen any classical on the HE 1000's? And know how they compare with the 800's?

why wouldn't we? totally agree with your little "troll" rant btw if that's what you're referring to.

but in answer to your question - no.
