I shall do that this evening. Is it easy to do?
Cheers.
Yes, just be careful that you don't bend the plastic retaining rings too much or they will break.

@Koolpep
what's that schiit on top of the LC? The width is the same with the LC, one thing I don't like on the LC is the width..it's not half rack size

The Modi2Über currently doing DAC duties...

Wow considering the price they were selling for, I would have loved one! Seems like they are no longer selling it? The other Cavellis are way outside of my budget sadly.
Any significant difference in SQ and other hardware features between new plug version and old screw in version?
Have they rectified the rattle issue in this driver?
If so 200USD difference in price worth paying.
@Koolpep
, did you get to take of the rings/grill to look at the drivers?
Haven't seen anyone with a comparison between old SMC and new 2.5mm yet for the HE-560.
The HE-400i has some SQ differences due to the removal of the mounting frame from the driver, those that have listened to both say that the new version is like the old with the grill mod, better soundstage, smoother highs and no ringing.
Really? I recall reading guys that had both saying no differences were worth worrying about the changes, sonically. Maybe I miss remember.
For around $300 you can get a Wolfson based Audio-GD DAC/AMP that will output 1-2w per ch on the HE560's 50ohm impedance. The DAC is excellent, Wolfson house sound plays well to the he560's signature.
Edit: you'll have to find the NFB-15 or variant used, they're discontinued. Balanced version is available however for $630 shipped
