OMG!!! I didn't realize that hifiman sold headphone stands for the he560/he400i!!!!! they look sick & only $20!!!!! damnnn, with a ton of 'fancy' stands costing $50+, this is such a steal. Anyone have them?

Little well meant warning if u have higher awg aftermarket cables on ur headphone...u dont have much clearance on this stand (as many others also!).. U could damage ur cable on the long run because of the bending..most stands i tried were useless for my headphone and its aftermarket cable with its custommade carbon connectors..only woo audio has one with ajustable height which is high enough for that (but very expensive)...so be careful..or else u spend money on something that could be useless or even damage ur (expensive) after market cable...but ofcourse for the standard cables they look like a good deal!

This is how i solved it:

I have had excellent results with this, and highly suspect you guys will love this:
http://bs2b.sourceforge.net/download.html

This is a crossfeed plugin for foobar2000 (which I imagine many of you already use). Try the J.Meier crossfeed setting, and please post your impressions.

I use it with the Senn IE80s, and what it does is "lift" the sounds on the extreme right and left off the wars and forward ever so slightly. Anything in the 60% of soundstage in the middle remains unchanged - at least to my ears. Turning it on/off made no noticeable difference.

It'd be extremely interesting to hear your results with the HE-560s.

Focus pads dust cloth removal not recommended. The sound gets too forward and aggressive, even for me. So I ordered another pair of the Focus pads for future use. The cloth-less pads will be there for the future but not a great match for the 560. Do match better with 400i though.

I got distracted by work for the last couple days so thanks for saving me the hassle and confirming what I suspected.  I am plenty happy with the Focus-As without the felt liner.  Have you tried those yet?

Now to get some mesh and try the grill mod.

Yeah, shame I had to be the scape goat :p

I don't like Focus-A for comfort unfortunately and for my current application I don't like the mesh-less Focuses either. I am lucky the 400i came with Focus pads so I have one spare pair for now till the new Focuses arrive.

I am loving the 560 most with stock Focus pads and open/stock grills [these two trade blows IMO].

[post edited for improper wording & behavior]

Meanwhile, my mesh-less Focus pads would be up for grabs for $25 shipped. Should be a good match for leaner HiFiMAN - 400i/500. Alternatively, I am sure anyone could make a new mesh if he so desired.

Conquer, can you PLEASE try out the Shure 1540 Alcantara pads? They seem to work well for the HE4, I'd like to see what they do to the 400i and 560. I'm not sure the focus pads have removable rings to attach to the 1540 pads like the HFM velours and pleathers?

I have the old rings that I can use for 3rd party pads I guess. If you point me in the correct direction, I'll try them.

Amazon has them, but I don't think they ship internationally. Here's what google gave up for retailers selling the pads. Perhaps one of these ship internationally.

Amazon does ship them internationally. I'll see if I find better or I'll eventually buy it there.

I've been out of the Head-Fi scene for a little bit now, but recently got the itch again :)
I'll be ordering my 560s and Asgard 2 next week sometime. I'm really looking forward to getting back into Head-Fi with these. Other than my DT880s/Crack combo these will be the highest end headphone I've owned. Can't wait :D

The earpads on 560/400i are glued to the rings, can't be taken off easily. But I'm sure we can try w/ the earlier Hifiman earpads which are pretty cheap.

BTW, will this 1540 pads fit K701? I checked Hifiman's pads, a bit smaller than the ones on K701. Just got a pair of old K701 for cheap, works great, but the earpads are too soft now. Thinking of changing it. But a pair of genuine K701 pads would cost more than what I paid (slightly over one pad cost) for the headphones already.

I was thinking of moving up from my dt770 pro to the 400i but i have heard that the 560 is better at low level listening ,and i was looking for a good female vocals can ,so will the 560 be a better choice, and will they be better complement to my dt770.
