Why would I not?   It's a no-brainer with these.

Same SQ effects as with the HE-400 and HE-500 I'm guessing? I'm just looking around for the right wire mesh now...

It's not really an effect, as much as the removal of an (unwanted) effect.

Wouldn't that apply to all open cans? Is it only manifested in Hifiman's implementation of cloth mesh & grills?

I don't think so, for one only planars (stats/orthos) have significant outgoing soundwaves that can reflect and affect the resulting sound depending on the outer enclosure, and secondly a lot of headphones utilize the cup and damping material to tune the sound (most modded T50RPs are the prime examples of this). So only planar-design headphones that don't rely on this form of tuning would get something out of this. Even then it's only an appreciable improvement to scrutinizing ears.

Been listening to my new 560 for 10 minutes now. It sounds completely different from my first, defect unit.
Bass is excellent. Clarity is great, sound stage is huge. Sound is detailed, airy and the mids are not that thin as I had feared. They have pretty good body (could be bigger) and are more to the warm side. Treble is just right for me

This is a fabulous headphone. A keeper.
(I still love my He-500, LCD-2 and XC too though)

The measurements of the new revision look promising, eagerly awaiting for the US dealers to get their stock shipped out.

I don't believe in burn-in but................I do believe after running the HE560 24 hrs a day for the last 7 days made a difference.  Low end has improved, slightly stronger, more textured bass/sub bass, and imo, the treble has smoothed some as well. overall I'm hearing them a bit more 3-Dimensional deeper soundstage!

^^ Then I'd say that you do believe in burn in.

Oh boy, let's not go there again on this thread! Last time it took several pages before we got back to the 560s!!

More impressions on the rev2s!!! PLEASE

btw - just got my replacement rev2s a couple of hours ago. (My first pair had a channel imbalance.) After a couple of hours, the rev1 is much more comfortable, but that could be because I've been wearing them for a month. Rev2 seems to have stiffer pads and a tighter spring to the metal band, but time will tell.

I find the rev2 to be significanly brighter. Glad to hear from cute that this could mellow with time (burn-in or brain burn?). Bass is very present and quite tight; I think I prefer the rev2, but need more time.

Do you at least find the newer he560 grill any better than the 500 grill?
