HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

Hehe, not sure if I would call HD800S an upgrade from HE500 - it's rather about taking a completely different route. Direct upgrade from HE500 would be for example to PMx2 (if want to get even closer to neutral frequency response) or HE-6 (if you want to get better technicalities with the very same 'classic Hifiman' house sound).

Also some subjective comment to very frequent discussion: HD6x0 and HE500 both rock the headphone world in terms of value. Senns for the fans of dynamic drivers while Hifimans for the planar magnetic enthusiasts. I personally prefer HE500 by a significant margin since I happen to be in the planar magnetic camp (especially with the right earpads and modded for slight high frequency attenuation).

I sincerely hope that you buy them before I find that ad; because I will mercilessly snap them up and let you wallow in the HE400it's.

are they better than he400i?

Yes, I especially find the vocals superior.

sorry when i converted norwegian krones to us is 312 us dollars, in perfect condition with silver cable and focus pads

Still a very good price. Usually I see them between $400+ to $500 plus.

I used to own both and when I needed cash the the 400i along with some others where sold. I would never sell my 500s.

Stop asking, BUY THEM NOW!
