What a great deal on these. It really is a hard one to beat imo.

Oh man, you need to follow this thread! What's your DAP like? You should keep the 400S if you're planning to drive them out of a smartphone. The 400i is stellar and a league apart but would need amping to get the best out of them. If you already have a good setup then the 400i is a no-brainer.

I have a Schiit Magni 2 and Modi 2. Not sure what to do here! Is the 400i really that superior to the 400S?

Like ezekiel77 said, if you've got an amp, go for the 400i.
 
EDIT:  I've got a Magni/Modi Uber stack myself.  Those will work really well to power the 400i I'm told.
 
Most reviews show the 400i superior in just about every way to the 400s, plus they come with the focus pads stock, whereas that is an extra $40 purchase with the 400s.

Same here.  First time ordering from Razordog, I have high hopes for them (both Razordog and the 400i). 
 
And the cans better have the new type connectors dammit!

Right on, good thing it was this month. Deals like this are great for some and suck for others - either get the 400S to the 400i depending on when you order, kind of messed up. Anyway, looking forward to my 400i - hell yeah

Excellent! Magni and Modi should drive these beautifully. I don't even have a desktop setup and they sing with my Cayin C5 and HiFi-M8.

​I've been trying to ascertain how the 400i compares to the X2 - does anyone have any input on this? Preferably from people who own both headphones. The only commentary that I can find on this topic is rather outdated and inconclusive.
 
Edit: yeah, still not sure.
