Aren't both the HE-500 and HE-6 heavier than the LCD-2?

I found that although all of them are heavy the LCD2 had the worst balance of them all in terms of weight distribution. Also surprisingly or I could be crazy but the HE6 doesn't feel like it is heavier than the HE500 or at least to me it doesnt.

Wikiphonia says the LCD-2 weighs 550g, and Justin  from Headamp reported that he weighed in the HE-500 at 548g

Well there you go. That's obviously why the LCD seems so much heavier than the HE-500.

I never left... well, except for selling that first HE400, lol.

And, therein lies the problem.  MLE really loves the AKG Anniversary Edition headphones that he has, but the thread on them isn't anywhere near the family atmosphere like we have here with the HifiMAN HE-400s.

I been listening to it exclusively for the past few hours. Every time I'm ready to give up on them, they reel me back in. :D

They are different enough from the Annie to warrant keeping them, and DAT BASS... but I am going to be buying the X1 as soon as it's available, and if the bass pleases me as much... the HE-400 may go. But only if. I don't need another well balanced can, as the Annie has that on LOCK. I heard the X1 is bassy. If it's as much as the HE-400 + more comfort...then the HE-400 may be in trouble.

Of course, the X1 may not even fit my head, so...

You just have some guy like me working on getting some proper acoustic fabric / protector, so it can be shipped out with the leather BeyerDynamic pads.

Jerg, I may ask you to make me some grills for my HE-400 in the future. Compensated, of course.

By the way, I think I suddenly like how HE400 sound with stock pleathers now. It more or less cures the upper treble spike. Sure it muddles up the imaging and airiness a bit but that's a colouration that is not necessarily negative.
