I wish, only have 3 headphones with me, HD-650, HE-400, and HD-700, one amp: Ember, one DAC: UD-301, had to keep it simple, GF took all the space:xf_eek:

I thought you had several more. Great choices though! I think I need to thin my own herd a bit, but there's something I love about each of them. Curse you Head-Fi!!

Sadly the other 30+ headphones, amps, DACs and DAPs are in storage for the time being.  I'm like you, really hard to "thin the herd" like you say.

What do you like about the HD-700 relative to the HE-400?

The HD-700 is very comfortable, fairly light, and slightly easier to drive properly than the HE-400.
Sound wise, the HD-700 has a wider soundstage, better mids and is more musical IMO for a wider range of music that I listen to.  The HE-400 has better low end punch and with some genre of music is quite fun to listen to.  For the HE-400 I've done the grill mod, made a custom headband and changed the plastic ear pad mounting rings to metal and sealed the mounting rings to the housing and currently have focus pads, all of these help the HE-400 become much more comfortable to wear, widen the soundstage a little, tame the highs a tad, and bring the mids a little more forward while keeping the bass nice and tight.

Look! DavidA is fibbing. See the cage. The headphones belong to the cat. Lair, liar, catch..

I am a little envious of that cat. All those headphones to paw.

These pink Momentums have been one of the best gifts for girls I have found, most never get anything more than the ear buds that come with their phone so giving them these it sounds so much better that they can't believe what they were missing, got 5 of them so far @ $52 - 58 each for used like new from AW.  Its also a sneaky way for me to get them into headphones, lol.  So far only one has moved up to HD-650 and K7XX with Aune T1.

PS: does she complain about hair getting tangled with the Momentum?

It's happened a few times lol. It's also my biggest grudge with my first portable cans from way back - the Koss PortaPro. Those can yank out hair very easily.

Occasionally drinking a beer or soda from a can the tab has grabbed my moustache - youch!
