Don’t seem to hear much about the Ananda. Is it not selling well?

The high end market is saturated with choices AND most having bought this are blissing out so much they have no time to write one. The few that are out there are very positive. Even with the arrival of the 6se I want to hear these the most - mostly due to cost, I'll have to locate a set of 6se's also, it'll kill me to buy the Ananda if I like the 6se better.

The Edition X V2 must be all but done BTW. $1079.65 at Amazon 1 in stock, and $899.00 at Head-Direct none in stock. So, Ananda should rule the HFM universe from $500-$1799 list - for a time.

They really should come out with a HE-500 thru MassDrop ($550ish) or themselves at $750). Drop the Sundara to $399. 400 keep around $200.

i have HE-500 and Ananda. Both the Ananda and HE-500 have very rich mids, i could not help but enjoy both of them. However is this is where the similarity ends.

The bass extends low on both headphones, but Ananda have abit more mid bass thus giving more of that punch/slam. My HE-500 is not modded, i assume if i mod correctly HE-500 would be able to provide me a better mid bass response.

The treble on the HE-500 is smooth, i did not hear any sibilance on HE-500, it just give enough treble to enjoy listening to treble orientated music. On the other hand Ananda does have some sibilance, but its only if you really focus on the music. To me this makes Ananda having better treble response than HE-500 as it is brighter.

Overall i would say the HE-500 is warmer and Ananda is brighter.

I don't know what the Ananda does, but everytime i put Ananda on, it just draws me into the music, maybe it's because of the brighter signature i don't know, but for that i prefer the Ananda over HE-500.

Sorry for the lack of audiophile vocabulary, as this is the first time try to write a impression or comparison of headphone, thus i am not able to describe sound properly.

Adorama had the HE-560 for $300 (!!!) last week. No idea if still ongoing or not... I saw it on the deals thread, but did not buy it since I have the 400i and the HEXv2
Having said that, $299 with free shipping and no tax (for me) - I was seriously tempted!

I think those were the v2's which have had some fitting issues, but yeah, it's a good price, saw the Sundara for $449 about 2 weeks ago. But no because I'm saving for the Ananda or the 6SE.

Makes sense Common analogy one having more bass. The other more clear. I have the Focal Clears. A little too bright at times. Looking for a complimentary can. The Ananda might be too bright for my complimentary can, giving way to the ed x as it suppose to have more bass than the Ananda.

Actually, the item was listed explicitly as V3 :)

The treble of the Ananda is not harsh but sparkling. It's a different kind of treble from your Focal. The DAC and amp can make a difference too, so a listening test is the best option
