One big problem for me is no support of Korean. Now I'm gonna have to rename 1000 songs manually or try to navigate using some squares and alien characters. Fortunate for me the other two-thirds of my collection is in English and Japanese.

Hm... Does it supports Russian tags?

I don't really know, but I read somewhere that the 801 reads only English, Japanese and Traditional/Simplified Chinese(correct me if this is wrong), and the 602 uses the same firmware. Definitely no Korean(I think there are 60000-something characters) but I think it can support Russian in the future at least, since it doesn't have that much characters.

So has anyone heard the 602 AND the SFLO:2? if so a simple which one sounds better will suffice. Is the 602 a sonic upgrade of the SFLO:2?

I would be interested to know this too. Are you prepared to change your signature, swanlee?

Yep, I'm after the best sounding dap I can afford. The 801 is a little out of my price range but the 602 could be gotten if it really is a sonic upgrade.

602 beats the PO on sflo2 hands down IMO.
the sound is less harsh and more charming at midrange. you might need a few days to get use to the sound signiture, after thant you will never look back.

This was my experience with the 602, as well.  The sound is very analogue and if you're used to anything digital (iPods, Cowons, Sansas), you may not like it right away.  The trick is to give it some time and let the rich warmth envelop you.  I'm having trouble going back to anything else at this point.

To each their own!

On that note, setting the user EQ to flat (0 across the board) resulted in a very different sound from the "Normal" preset.

So, how is the "very different sound" different?
More / less treble, bass - or?

@ Darksyde and others who have the HM-620:
What happens if you reduce all the EQ levels?
Do we get a boost above 6 kHz then, or is it simply a reduced level across the whole range?

The more time I spend with it, I feel like it will be my new portable solution. I don't feel a need for an external amp (although I will a/b different combos) and I'm loving the DAC. It's awesome. It might be playing the same game as an iPod, but it's in a different league altogether.

So how is the background noise on it? any hissing? Is the output of the PO more or less powerful than the SFLO:2. Is bass as powerfull?
