Talking about open back, I just had a go with my “mini open back”, the LCDi4 (using anker usb-c to lightning adapter and cipher cable), and my oh my I’m in awe! Pitch black background, very clean and high resolution but very dynamic and analog, not to mention that monstrous holographic soundstage. For my taste, I think this is close to perfection. I play every genre in my library and everything sounds so so good

Yes it does. And if you have previously applied any adjustment on the cipher cable’s EQ settings, it will apply the Preset 1 settings.

I love this DAP but one thing i miss from y previous Sony DAP is their function to "upscale" mp3s (DSEE). Is there a music player on Android that has a similar function?

I think Neutron MP player can upsample and dither.

This morning my R8 won’t turn on, there’s nothing on the screen and yet the LED light is on with blue color. I tried to press the on/off button for 15-30 seconds but to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks.
