Finally, after a month and a half of waiting, and my package being lost twice, I have received the Hiby R8 LTE today, and yep the 4G works :D I bought the Romi Audio BX2 Plus also and both arrived together!

I only use Luna+Socrates for IEM and Denon D9200 for closed-back headphones nowadays after selling off most stuff.

First impression right off the bat, Luna+R8 = Wow! This is very very close to my endgame pairing to be honest! I dont see myself buying more iems in the near future. Socrates with Luna gave me a lot of smiles and putting R8 in the chain just completes it! I cant fault anything!

D9200+ R8 + Turbo on = This pairing sounds amazing too, just scales so damn good, D9200 is very open for a closed-back headphones and has tons of clarity, bass is full and mids clear and forward, but not too forward!

D9200 + R8 + BX2 Plus = This pairing immediately bought smile to my face! What was already a great pairing with R8, BX2 just takes the the soundstage and enhances it. It does not color the sound in any way but boy, the soundstage is damn good with this that I might only use D9200+R8+BX2 together now!

Extremely stoke with these recent purchases, I can finally say I am very content with what I have right now, and might just get the Diana V2 at the end of the year to complete the circle but who knows I might not!

Nice , I have the 9200 and that Romi amp , both great and I did demo the R8 with the 9200 with Turbo and the pairing was very enjoyable. I can only imagine adding the Romi to the chain

Congrats - I concur with the term "endgame", at least for the foreseeable future :xf_cool:

And as much as it has been said it is worth saying again...the packaging and presentation is enough to send shivers down the spine!

Welcome to the club! I honestly I'm very happy with what I have right now! Might get a good open-back headphone and that's all!

I had a decent desktop rig that I sold off plus bunch of other headphones and iems too, became too crowded and I just basically wanted to pick one and listen instead of choosing all then time what I want to hear! And now portability was my aim which I thing I have got now!

I'd look at iBasso SR2, fantastic pairing with the R8 :heartbeat:

No doubt about it! :) I do recommend you to demo the Socrates cable with Luna and R8!

But I think im good with what I have for now, only thing I'll get now is an open-back, Diana V2 (because its warm with tons of detail and very lightweight) or Final D8000 Pro for the overall sound!

D8000 Pro is incredible. Realism and amount of detail is unbelievable. Although R8 can drive it, a powerful amp takes the low end to a much better level. It reacts very well, so your external will be very helpful. Once you hear what is possible, there is no going back. :)

Talking about open back, I just had a go with my “mini open back”, the LCDi4 (using anker usb-c to lightning adapter and cipher cable), and my oh my I’m in awe! Pitch black background, very clean and high resolution but very dynamic and analog, not to mention that monstrous holographic soundstage. For my taste, I think this is close to perfection. I play every genre in my library and everything sounds so so good:thumbsup::thumbsup:

On the charging capability of the R8 (because lord knows it takes a long time to fill up its 10,000mAh battery bank!) - the specs say it supports QC4.0. This is 18W max via normal USB - same as QC3.0 - but 27W via USB-PD. In order to make use of the QC4.0 on the R8 would one need to use USB-PD?

Did anyone compare R8 with A&K SE200?
