Hiby R6 Pro - serious upgrade to popular DAP
Feb 28, 2019 at 2:52 PM Post #1,143 of 4,006
Now I guess everyone would agree that R6 Pro is truly a powerhouse.
Just curious. Has anyone paired R6 Pro with high impedance or hard-to-drive big Cans like HD800, LCD-2, etc?
Is R6 Pro able to get the most out of them without the help from a desktop Amp?

Many thanks for any comment or advice~~

My take on the HiBy R6 Pro. Enjoy & Happy Listening, as always. :)

After updating the R6 pro to the latest firmware (OTA, chinese firmware), the wifi interference issue seems to have gone away on both the 3.5 and 4.4 output.

Not sure if anyone who has that issue wants to give it a try.

Can I know what version you're using now? I didn't received any ota update. I'm on Chinese version 1.11beta.

Anybody know how to update the firmware. I have the Chinese version. When I go to online update it downloads the software but always fails when it comes to installing

I have the Chinese version too but haven't had any issue updating.
Is is possible that u skipped one or more versions before the most recent update? Sometimes that can cause failure in OTA update.
I suggest to PM Hiby Facebook page. They've been very responsive to my inquiries.

The current firmware on my device is stil 1.11Beta_20190127_1418

I'm not sure if its the same firmware as before but this is the 2nd time i have updated since getting the device.

Prior to receiving this update, i tried installing gapps on my device (as i would like to have playstore installed) via Hiby's support which failed (crashes constantly)

I uninstalled the gapps using the provided uninstaller zip file they provided.

Thereafter i went to the update tool and received the aforementioned update notice.

Along this entire process, i did not factory reset my device.

It was after the update that i realized the phone interference signal sounds were gone when i placed it side by side/on top of one another with the 3.5 or the 4.4 output on different IEM/headphones/cables.

Referring back to the EMI/hiss/RFI issues with the balanced connection of the Pro, has anyone tried using Ferrite Beads Clamps on their audio cable to eliminate such interference?. I haven't got any handy, but was wondering if anyone has, and they can run a test one etc.
