I did that still nothing.Factory reset is the 1st step. If not, Joe likely knows how to access the android reset menu.

It's not likely to be a firmware fault, but as goodvibes suggests, try factory reset.Cant check

Thank you. By some fluke of luck, I randomly reset it after letting it sit for some time. It allowed touch access. I was able to do 5 firmware updates in a row. Dont think I ever did any in the 3+ years i owned this. So far, so good; everything seems to be working. I'll update in like 12 hours on my way to work.I will provide a link to the manual firmware download soon.

Thank you much appreciated
Hey there. I got a R8 that won't charge it just shows the battery with a red bar across the bottom. No matter what I do, it's dead. Do I need to bury in a shallow grave. Hiby will not respond to anything. LOLIt looks like a hardware issue then. Sorry, you will lose money. Although this is outside warranty period, may be worth shooting an email to Hiby customer support, letting them know of this problem. May be you get lucky, never know, or if they can fix it for a small charge, you can at least sell it and move on.

A public service announcement regarding TIDAL on our devices
Currently, TIDAL (builds starting from 2.87.1 that included Max level FLACs) does not seem to be working properly for devices of Android version 10 or below.
I included my investigation results (how I arrived at this conclusion) here: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/tidal-lossless-streaming.733233/page-340#post-17695132
One solution is for us to upgrade all our DAPs to 11 and up, but as some of you know, our ability to do update the Android version is pretty much tied to the SoC used and the SDK provided.
Another solution, since the app does allow installation on all our DAPs ranging down to Android 6, is for TIDAL to make use of the info given above to debug the app for older versions of Android, so that they will actually run properly on devices they would install on.
As of this writing, the last TIDAL version I tested that functioned properly, was 2.86.0 . I include a link to its installer here
https://d.apkpure.com/b/APK/com.aspiro.tidal?versionCode=1121
I will try to update here when this issue has been resolved.
Best regards,
Joe
