I just received my R6 2020 and find that the only USB DACs I can use are those with a volume control. All of them without a built-in control blast at full volume regardless of the R6 volume control setting and regardless of any app except UAPP which works normally. I have tried the various USB menu options without success. Operation is normal on all non-USB outputs.
Any and all suggestions are welcome!
Hi HiFlight,

Unfortunately you are right about this for now, we are working on adding USB volume control in a future update.

[...], should I bother to update, considering the problems I've read with other users after updating? If I had to do a factory reset as some have suggested, what are the repercussions of this?

Thanks for any advice.
If all is ok actually for you then...
I'm completely happy with the last firmware but i had to do a factory reset.
Maybe wait to the next firmware to update your device, the little problems we encountered may not be present and could save you time

Thank you very much for the prompt reply! I am very much looking forward to that update!

Does any body use the Plugin DRX 10K Dynamics. I find it quite amazing. Total changes dynamics and makes the HiBy R6 III sound like a totally different DAP. Amazed.
Mate does the volume become limited/reduced while using this plugin? Cause I've read elsewhere while using MSEB EQ volume takes a hit.

BTW would appreciate some impressions of the sound quality after applying this DRX 10K Dynamics Plug-in. Cheers.

Volume is normally a little lower when using EQ as you're boosting certain frequencies so it reduces the gain to compensate and reduce the risk of over-driving.

I found DRX exaggerates the bass a little, making it fuller. It is quite nice with the Hiby player but Amazon Music didn't like it as it is already a bit that way. Interesting to play with though.

@Joe Bloggs Do I understand correctly, it is a hardware problem?

The story. Nothing happened before (any usage or software changes). At some moment I have noticed a keyboard doesn't work properly: say, pressing "s" results in "ad", or pressing "e" results in "wr" or just "r", and other crazy things. 1.31 is installed. I have tried to reset from Settings menu and from recovery menu with the same result: nothing helps.

So, is it a hardware?

Do you mean to say that the screen taps are being registered incorrectly?

Can you try installing a different IME (input method) to check whether that's the case or whether something's wrong with the keyboard app itself?

What other "crazy things"?

Do note that it is fully adjustable by tapping on the listing itself rather than the checkbox.

There's a dedicated thread on the DRX10K: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/introducing-the-all-new-hiby-drx10k.968627/

You can set the relative volume to be whatever you like with the plugin on (lower, same, even higher) but it is recommended to set it to be "lower" because otherwise tracks that have waveforms near the max to start with will overshoot after being processed by the plugin and need to be limited.

Setting it to be lower ("reduced while using this plugin") carries no quality penalty, you just have to turn the volume of the device up.

IF you find that the volume is not enough even at max volume, that probably means the track is very quiet to start with, and it is indeed safe to set the gain higher on the plugin without consequence.

Yes.

I have noticed the problem using another keyboard. So there isn't any difference between another and stock one (that is the problem exists on all the cases).

The same invalid touch reaction takes place on the "z" and "," symbols.

For lucky case WiFi password input is possible. It isn't for Google account.

In that case please email hello@hiby.com with the following:
"My R6 III touchscreen (touch registration) has partially failed in that certain areas of the screen do not register touches anymore as tested with this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.rallwell.siriuth.touchscreentest (picture attached). Have tried factory resetting the player. Fault confirmed by Joe Bloggs on head-fi. Please advise next steps."

(include personal and purchase info as appropriate)

Sorry about that.
