HiBy R6 III (Gen 3) Android digital audio player, Dual ES9038Q2M, Class A / AB amplification switch, Snapdragon 665, Open Android 12 OS, DSD512 / PCM768
I find myself in the process of acquiring a Hiby R6 Gen III from Australia, facilitated by my cousin who is currently on holiday there. As I've observed, numerous users in this community have encountered various problems, defects, and bugs with this device. I'm seeking advice on the major bugs or issues that my cousin should be vigilant about while inspecting the device. Once he brings it to Bangladesh for me, the possibility of obtaining a replacement or requesting a refund will be unavailable. Any guidance on this matter would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I'm not sure about any bugs. I do know that once the firmware is updated properly the R6 III is an amazing DAP. If the alleged glitches don't affect you then don't be put off. If the named glitches, by anybody, do affect you then wait. It may well be the perfect DAP for you. I followed, Joe Bloggs's suggestions/instructions and my R6 III is perfect.
I followed the instructions but the Hiby music app still crashes when I touch the Volume wheel. Works perfectly with other music apps so not catastrophic
One of the more annoying is the Hiby music App that permanently crashes when touching the Volume wheel.
This has been reported by several users in this forum (even with the latest firmware).
I was very happy with the newly purchased Hiby r6 III but when I charged it the first time I realized that the quick charge does not work. It starts charging well but in a few minutes it switches to lens charging (which is not slow, it is very slow).
If you still face this issue, can I ask you to install Ampere and the 3C Battery Manager and show me what they say about the charging voltage / current? Thanks!

1. When did this start happening?
2. What were the "instructions followed"?
3. What are you outputting to? Is it an external USB DAC / dongle by any chance?
Best regards,
Joe

Dear Joe, please tell me, is there a plan for a plugin in the form of an equalizer? Or maybe you can install a system equalizer? MSEB is interesting but doesn't meet my needs
I think you might need to open it a few more times with WiFi connected. It may be trying to update itself. Also check that your time and date and time zone are correct.
