HiBy R6 III (Gen 3) Android digital audio player, Dual ES9038Q2M, Class A / AB amplification switch, Snapdragon 665, Open Android 12 OS, DSD512 / PCM768
I found the original 1.3 FW upgrade fine. The newest 1.31 seems to have gone a little backwards. We should NOT in any way have to do a 'Factory Reset' to overcome the problems....THAT is HiBy laziness. Please turn FW 1.31 into CLEAN Firmware. That is your jobs at HiBy. The R6 III is a great bit of hardware and needs, stable, clean, bug free FW/Software.

I have my "time problem" with the v.1.30, didn't have a notification for the 1.31 (it's a minor problem, but well.. it's here). But on the positive side, i noticed that the stand-by mode works well: battery consumption is really low.
It's a bit of a shame these inconveniences, and I hope they can fix everything because this DAP is great
Is anyone also have a problem that the volume indicator on status bar not update when you only increase/decrease one level of volume? This is only happen for me when my screen is turn on and I'm not in lock screen.
Okay this is a weird one for you. I upgraded to fw 1.31 and i have noticed the tuning of the device has changed. It seems to shimmer in the treble now least out of the 3.5mm line out. I am running it through a nx7 as my amp. It definitely didnt sound like that before the update. Ill go through and check settings to be sure
One solution is for us to upgrade all our DAPs to 11 and up, but as some of you know, our ability to do update the Android version is pretty much tied to the SoC used and the SDK provided.
Another solution, since the app does allow installation on all our DAPs ranging down to Android 6, is for TIDAL to make use of the info given above to debug the app for older versions of Android, so that they will actually run properly on devices they would install on.
Yeah, I think 2.91 is starting to get the oldsters to play everything again.
Well, almost.
My Shanling M6 Pro 21 will play the new FLAC stuff great now with the 2.91 beta but balks at anything MQA. Try any track from Elina Duni A Time to Remember; it's entirely MQA. My Shanling just stops and stutters and generally refuses to play that one and any other MQA track.
FLAC though is great in the M6 Pro after I did a cache clear and settings reset in the app.
It may play for you as you're at Android 8.1 even with your 16x decoder. Weirdly my Acer tablet stuck at lowly Android 7.0 will now play all FLAC and MQA like a champ in 2.91 vs. the Shanling. I don't know but it may be the Android 7.1.1 in the Shanling, but more importantly the hardware decoding of the M6 Pro just doesn't work properly on MQA stuff in this latest Tidal, whereas the Acer just does the first unfold in software and isn't bothered about hardware decoding.
Hey Guys, hope you all are doing good.
Updated the R6iii to 1.31 and after that I am not able to play any songs on spotify nor any videos on you tube. But yes I am able to browse online - just nit able to play anything.
Any solutions....

Sorry, we literally have no idea why this is even happening at this point. It's not happening with any consistency as to be able to pinpoint a fault in the firmware upgrade process let alone the firmware itself.
Just passing on the message...

1.31 all works fine on me except the name of pluggins and mesb error, factory reset solved the problem.
What I consider still is the LDAC audio input bluetooth, it stuttering like random blip sound (like a bad connection) from my samsung s22+ and tab s8, please report this, or any solution? If I don't use LDAC (high quality 96khz) and turn into default standard quality AAC 44khz its all fine. Thank you
Found out that after updating the firmware the date was not synced to the present time and therefore internet was not working.
Finally corrected the date and all was back to normal.
Cheers
Just a report...
Updated to 1.31 and MSEB/Plugins show fine here.
The issue with some apps (like DI.FM and HypeMachine) crashing on open still persists.
My Hiby music app still keeps crashing even if all I do is adjust volume this does not happen in any other music app on the player I have factory reset problem still occurs
