Qobuz not a fan.
Maybe I should try it again??!!?

Thanks
Also not my first option.
For my music taste its lacking some serious titles on its library.

On other hand sound quality is for me better than tidal and best Ive tried.

Spotify, so far, its perfect (spotify connect works better than airplay and library is 100%) besides from missing hifi tier.

Does anyone else have these issues? The battery never fully charges, only gets to 99% no matter how long I charge it for. Also in the top menu bar it never shows the correct sampling rate. I'm on the latest firmware and I'm not using a third party EQ app, just streaming Apple Music

I have zero issues with mine. It gets to 99% usually but it doesn't bother me.

I don't use Apple Music but sample rate shows correctly for Hiby player, Qobuz and Spotify.

Also I have a 512GB sdcard formatted as external that works great for Hiby player. I normally store Spotify offline music in the internal memory.

Can't be happier!

Hmmmm thanks. Maybe its just an issue with Apple Music, I'll have to check Amazon Music

You can check in Settings > Battery > Max Battery if its've been limited to 99%. For the sample rate problem, check whether you enabled "Fixed Sample Rate" plugin by accident in Settings > Audio settings > Plugins

For battery life it can be good not to charge to 100%. 80-90% will prolong battery life. Amazon HD works fine on the R6 III. I have many thousands of MP3 files (and some flacs), scraped of the internet many moons ago, the MP3's recorded at various bit-rates like 160/190ish kbps and I am loathe to get rid of them. Surprisingly the the HiBy music app plays them unusually well and they sound good enough to enjoy. Amazon Ultra/HD works and sounds exceptionally good and the 4.4mm drives my IMR Ace with it's Planar, DD, and Bone Conduction comfortably. The 4GB of RAM takes the HiBy way above my Tempotec V6 and Shanling M3X in all areas of use. Class A does make a little difference sound quality wise, but not enough to warrant using Class A all the time, Class AB is excellent. Even Youtube sounds good. MSEB is so useful for someone like me who is a bit number Dyslexic. So far it's a very substantial and well built piece of kit.

Mine seems to stop charging at 99% too. It’s definitely not limited in the settings.

Yup. Same here. But I'm not fussed about it. I only charge my device when it gets to about 20% or less. Fingers crossed that the Hiby OS (skinned android) has some battery management built-in. Otherwise I hope they can replace batteries as a service.

This is my concern as well. The Hiby doesn't appear to have a user serviceable battery and at the price, I expect to have a solution when this dies in 3 yrs or so. I should have checked this before my purchase. To be fair, most phones don't have this option either, but doesn't mean its right.
For this reason I don't charge past 80%. Only charging 99% is a non-issue, unless other functionality is impacted. (Heat?)

Here to charge up to 100% just with a QC2.0 or QC3.0 adapter and a USB-A >>> USB-C cable. It takes longer, but I think it's better for the battery. It starts charging rapidly and around 80% it switches to slowly.

With the USB-C >>> USB-C cable, using a PD2.0 charger (or higher), it charges faster, but it never switches to slowly charge and always stays at 99%.

In the R6 Pro II this problem does not happen. It doesn't matter whether the charger is QC2.0 or PD2.0.

Have any of you got the R6 Gen III working in BT receive mode? I'm trying to get it to connect to my FiiO BTA30 but it's not working. When the BTA30 is in pairing mode the R6 doesn't see it. Eventually the BTA30 times out and goes into a 'reconnecting state' and only then does the R6 see it but it won't connect to it.

Any thoughts? The devices are only an inch (25mm) apart, the BTA30 is known to transmit well and the R6 can connect and transmit to the BTA30 but this is the first time I've tried asking the R6 to receive.

If we do manage to get it to connect, what app would I need to use to play the audio from it?

Hiby R6 Gen III + Moondrop Blessing2 Dusk

I bought an R6 III last week and I am LOVING the sound quality, this thing sounds amazing! There are other issues that I am less pleased with (not being able to install/use 3 radio station apps that I use regularly, for one) but I am talking to Hiby so hopefully they'll sort them out for me.

I'm sure I'll have lots more to say about the R6 III but to start with, can anyone recommend a system-wide EQ app? I tried the one I use on my 'phone and was surprised to find that it worked, given that the OS is modified to overcome SRC limitations, but found that it, and another I tried, re-encodes everything to 44.1KHz so that's no good. (I know there are EQs in most media players, but not in radio apps, video players, YouTube, etc. - I'm old and need EQ.)

My other initial question is to ask if anyone has played with the 3 stage gain control? Obviously its purpose is to enable harder to drive headphones/IEMs but I wonder which of the three settings is 'straight through', meaning the other two are either attenuated or boosted and presumably lesser quality?

I tried it of course and felt as if the high gain setting gave me very slightly tighter bass but it was probably my imagination. I also wondered if the high setting might use more power (allowing for the volume being much lower) but the device didn't seem to get any warmer and I haven't yet checked to see if it drains the battery more quickly. I know I'm being overly fussy, I'm just tweaking this lovely device to get the very best out of it. :)
When I listen with Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro (250ohm), or AKG 612 Pro (162 ohm) yes switching to High Gain and Class A (optional) - and then yea you get them at proper level for quality.
