I got the brown HiBy case for the R6 III today. Fits well. The main thing is that it makes access to the volume wheel a lot easier than the supplied condom case. The HiBy R6 III is a serious DAP. Very high level, and using class A amplification the sound quality belies it's price. A real winner in every way.
I like the look of the brown leather case, it looks very smart and sophisticated, but I am concerned about the two tabs on the outside of the volume wheel. Do they feel sturdy or likely to bend over in time? Also, how do the buttons feel through the plastic, better than the clear case? Thanks.

Hifi Go have come back to me and confirmed that the cases are faux leather. I'm ordering the green one then

Almost ready to pull the trigger on this, but can foresee myself getting unreasonably irked by the cyan cast of the screen.

I know night mode is an option, but has anyone had any success installing the Color Calibrator app? This seems the obvious fix if the Hiby version of Android allows such things.
I’ve had mine for a couple of months and compared to most of the posters on this thread, I’m happy. I listen with PowerAmp and the occasional Tidal download. Any eq I do in PowerAmp. It sounds great with Moondrop IEMs and noise cancelling Bluetooth (Momentum 4) when travelling.
It was glitchy at the start, but after a few updates, the one remaining gripe is the colour cast - I can’t believe Hiby haven’t fixed it in one of the updates as it’s so obviously wrong.
I’ve never been an Android user and so don’t know about the app you mention, but hope someone will be along soon to tell us it works…

I've had (had) the R6III for a few days--I think the colour cast is part of the UI and not an actual cast of the screen (so colours are correct within apps but most system menus have this blue cast?)

Green is faux and brown is real, still like the green. Back side is very cool with the design, but brown real leather scream quality. And that leather smell, and feel in the hand is soft and nice.
But its understandable if you avoid real leather, the business behind it is questionable in many places.

Sorry for the topic change.
I’m have a big problem with the Tidal and Deezer buffering so bad I may have to return it.
This seems to happen with downloaded content, if I remove from downloaded content then the playlist will work.

I’m pulling my hair out by the roots help me Obi-Wan Kenobi

A little earlier in the thread Joe Bloggs suggested that the memory card be formatted within the player as "external" for people who are having problems with downloaded playlists from apps. You can see if that helps.

I'm not so sure about that- I have another DAP here and using Apple Music app the Hiby looks noticeably off and more blue when comparing the 2 now playing screens.

I’ve done that more than a few times.
Now I’m thinking it’s a slow read speed of my ssd. This is the card I’m using.
I’ll try a faster card.

Fingers crossed

I had the exact same problems.
Tidal wouldnt load any downloaded content on my wm1am2, and I tried everything. For it to work I had to switch wifi on start playing and then swich wifi off.

Ended up switching to qobuz.

Qobuz does indeed work smoother and better than Tidal on the R6 gen 3. Tidal seems to try and locate the downloaded files every time you re-open the app which results in a long delay waiting for it to play, whereas Qobuz seems to be better optimised and know how and where they're stored and catagorised/catalogued (until it failed and couldn't recall any saved data like I had).

I've also noticed with Tidal that it is always downloading/generating the cover art, so when browsing albums its rendering them in real-time, which contributes to the app running slower and making it fee laggy/sluggish, Again, Qobuz doesn't have this issue and seems to save this information. So, all the artwork is there. At least that is my perception of what appears to be going on.

I did originally use a SanDisk 512GB Ultra microSDXC A1 rated card and formatted this on the DAP itself before using it. Due to the issues I had, I purchased a Samsung 512GB PRO Plus MicroSDXC A2 V30 rated card yesterday. I formatted this card on my PC using exFAT with the unit allocation set at 128k. I don't know if its the better card speed, the formatting method used or possibly a combination of both, but the download speeds to the card have been greatly improved. I also haven't encountered any issues as of yet (touch wood) with downloading/offlining music.

I will get a faster card and format exFAT and will post the results here.

Thanks

Qobuz not a fan.
Maybe I should try it again??!!?

Thanks

I would give Qobuz a go. I'm really enjoying it. The sound quality is superior and for me the price is cheaper than Tidal Hifi Plus. I'm aware people used to often complain about the app and its performance. Whilst I can't comment on what it used to be like, its very good now.

The only downside I'm aware of is their library is smaller. However, for me I've not had an issue yet with not being able to find something I'm looking for.

In regard to the SD card and formatting. I genuinely don't know if it made a difference formatting as exFAT on PC with 128k allocation rather than the player itself but using a fast A2 V30 rated card I would highly recommend. The performance compared to my previous A1 card is very noticeable.

I'm also taking advise from a poster above and keeping the screen on whilst downloading to avoid it timing out. Whilst I've successful downloaded music files whilst the screen being off, from the sounds of it, if it does cause an issue whilst saving it seems to cause a fault or corrupt the file library on the sd card (completely speculating here, I have no idea).

Saved imported/downloaded music files also play instantly on Qobuz without any of that buffering that I noticed with Tidal.
