Quick impressions. Received my Stainless R6 a few days ago. Experienced problems with my S@ndisk uSD card: changed to S@msung which worked perfectly. Playing through Cardas A8’s via balanced: the sound has improved after the first few hours. Tried my UE900s and Westone 4R via balanced and all sound very good. No apparent issues with output impedance notedby others. As to the sound, comparing with my AK 120ii, I feel theR6 is possibly better. I notice increased resolution and better tone and PRAT. WiFi connection is fast, I do notice lower signal level compared to a smartphone, but no issues. The device is fast and I love the weight of the stainless. Bravo HiBy!
I'm kind of wondering if this recent batch still has high output impedance or if hiby changed it when they went to the new factory. The pairs I thought I'd have issues with seem perfectly fine. This ifi iematch seems kind of pointless.... Differences I had noticed appear to be simply from changing from low to the high gain needed to drive them while using iematch. Basically I've found I just like high gain a bit better....

@Joe Bloggs in the latest FW, Hiby Link is implemented over wifi? Are there plans to implement over Bluetooth as for non Android devices?
Can someone tell me what HiBy Link is? I see the option after the firmware update, but nothing happens when I implement it.

Also, HiBy software powers the Fiio X5iii, but that player does a fair to middlin job of getting artwork and lyrics OTA. R6 never gets the lyrics right, even for well-known songs.

So, after a couple of days of constant downloading (Tidal offline), the R6 is ready to rock and roll.

I use it primarily as a digital transport into a Hugo2- wherein its DTA architecture really shines. That combo sounds really much better than any other non DTA digital transport + Hugo2 combo.

Only issue I've encountered so far are:

1. Tidal once stopped working for no reason. I sent a report- not sure whom the report was sent to, though.
2. The first- maybe- half a second of every song seems to be skipped when moving through a playlist. Oddly, the half second is restored when you replay the song that is already playing.

I've attached some ugly pictures of my ugly and increasingly un portable stack. Headphones used are Sony Z1Rs.
