thx.....it was just a few posts above some said they were on 1.4 firmware and I could not seem to load it.

The latest version number would depend on whether you're on Marshmallow or Oreo. The only way to go from one to the other is via the factory reflash process detailed on page 349, but we are continuing to provide updates to both OS builds as people requested.

The latest build number is a higher number on marshmallow than oreo

Hi all, recently my r6 would run down thw battery to zero overnight. I note that this happens at the 30 percentage mark or so. I was wondering whether the battery indictor needes recalibrating and if so how does one go about it?

If not due to battery caliberating what can it be?

Anyone any thoughts or similar experience?

Am on Oreo 1.12g build. Using mainly via balanced out and bluetooth on LDAC.

Also anyone has any answer to thw question of battery mode 1 and 2 in settings. What do the modes do? Anyone? Hiby? Joe?

Thanks.

Each complete charge / discharge cycle (going down to 0% then back up to 100%) recalibrates the battery automatically. That said, it is not recommended to often let your battery go down to zero, and also not to keep the R6 plugged in at 100% while playing music at the same time (leaving it charging overnight is fine but if you're actively using it, I recommend that you unplug when you see it is fully charged).

The battery mode 1 and 2 apply different battery curves (and perhaps different 0% and 100% endpoints) to the device that correspond to two different batteries that the R6 have been supplied with during the production cycle. But I haven't been told how to identify that your R6's battery belongs to mode 1 or mode 2 or what the advantages are of setting the R6 to the right battery mode according to the actual battery inside. All I know is that both batteries have the same capacity.

Thanks. Joe good points. If you get more info on the battery modes please do share. For now I am putting mine on mode 1.

I understand not letting the battery drain to zero, thats why I am concerned as it seems to go from 30 to 0 overnight and I dunno about it till next day.

The set is not plugged in. Not working and all apps shut down.

Now i think all I can do is to recharge everytime it hits 30 to ensure it wont run down to zero overnight.

Thansk again for the info Joe.

They only advise to change the battery mode from one to the other to see if the battery time improves

Thats a pathetic response. Coming from the designers and engineers?

Oh my gosh.

Thanks Joe for the help anyway.

Cheers.

I'm sure they have a much more sophisticated response. This was the dumbed down response that the other CS I could get a hold of gave me on a Sunday :p

Well dumbed way down in this case.

I believe for a more detailed response, to wait till they start the work week is reasonable.

As always you have tried and I do appreciate it.

If they do honour you with a more 'sophisticated ' response do let me know.

For now, I will keep chrging at 30 percent mark and, hahaha, do mode switches for fun.

Cheers.

Pls add the LDAC bluetooth receiver for R6. How r3 can but r6 can't? Sound illogic.
Well it is a technical challenge not related to price as stock android has no provision for the device to act as a bluetooth audio receiver...
