HiByLink with an iPhone should ideally be done over WiFi as the alternative (BLE bluetooth) is very slow (because of limitations of Bluetooth Low Energy).

What were the exact steps you followed and the errors that occurred?

Bluetooth is not even an option for me. Does not show up in the List of devices and the iPhone won't connect to the R6 via bluetooth from the settings menu of either device. Over wifi, I set both devices to the same 2G wifi Point. I have R6 as Server toggled on. I have iPhone HiByLink toggled on as well. I click search devices and I see R6(131) with a wifi symbol. I click on R6 and then get a connecting message that ends up going away after 20 seconds but does not connect.

On the R3, mine went toggled off by itself, took me a long time to realise...

Sorry for misleading informations, it must be slightly different on R6 then R3. I don't think R6 actually has that.

Just received the unit today. I am getting a some static here and there on the lows and sometimes middle highs. Especially on rap music. I am on high gain with 660s. Cab anyone help?

By changing to low gain and reducing amp in eq to -5.5 and reducing most of my sliders, most of the bad sound is gone. Is this normal?

Hi all, new on this thread.
My R6 Arrived today, won't say to much yet but wanted to ask if anyone is using Noble Encore.
Popped mine on and was expecting some change, high sensitivity 35ohm, but not what I heard. Quite an increase in bass compared to my Mojo, both quantity and some depth.
Certainly a signature change, haven't listened long enough really but that stood out mostly to me.

Not 660s but with hd6xx, my Hiby R6 is at 85 volume and high gain and no static or noise can be heard.
Although the 660s ohm is 150ohm I think it should not be any problem. You may want to try another Hiby R6 to see if the problem still persist.

I am at vol 40 - 60 with the low gain and lesser amp setting. Could it be that this unit is too powerful for the 660s at the higher settings? Everything is really clean at the lower settings!

I can go to high gain but I cannot raise the amp in the eq above -5.5 without static starting and getting really bad above 0.

It's worth noting that I've tweaked the amp on the EQ to -5 which seems to have solved the distortion issue. There's still not as much bass as I'd like - a fair bit of sub bass though - but it's much better than it was. I'm using with a pair of V Moda LP2s (and sometimes a Fiio A3 amp). I like a clear sound with an added deep bass punch!

Added a leather (maybe pleather) backing to my R6. Original owner cracked & chipped the lower right corner of the glass. It adds maybe 1mm to the overall thickness and you probably wouldn’t be able to fit it into the case, but I don’t use a case with mine and I think it adds some grip to the DAP.

I did consider that, but wanted something with a little more cushioning/thickness. I’ve also considered adhesive wood paneling.

Try using MSEB instead of the EQ. Or try lowering the preamp slider on the left of the EQ screen (preferably as far low as you push the bass high)

Joe, is this a defective unit issue? I am having the same issue and am ready to return it.
