HiBy does actually go around Android's resampling. It's the Roon app that doesn't. One reason I haven't entertained the idea of switching from Plex to Roon. Even though Plex also resamples, at least it's free, and I can use all the files from my Plex server through UAPP via DLNA.Yeah, I see the virtue in that approach. I hate cables and barely used my Hugo 2 prior to 2Go's arrival.
Sadly, Hiby doesn't go around Android's resampling so lots of apps like Roon don't use the internal hardware of the R6.

Wasn't aware of that, thanks. Was under the impression that Shanling do that on their M8.
I am a big fan of Roon- got a lifetime license the other day. I have my own collection hosted on a server that I also use as an always on Roon Core. From there I use the Chord 2Go and Chord Poly as endpoints, as well as a RoPiee 4B connected to my Focal Arche.
HiBy were actually the first to bypass Android with their DTA architecture. Everyone else copied them.Wasn't aware of that, thanks. Was under the impression that Shanling do that on their M8.

Anyone else's R6 2020 randomly shutting down? Happened twice today already, while the screen was on..

All except Linsoul are authorized resellers, so that's all I can say on the record. Sorry for the late reply.Joe, Where would be the best place for me to order a R6 2020 being in Canada? Musicteck, Hiby, HifiGo or Linsoul? (also are HifiGo and Linsoul authorized resellers?)
electronicsforless.ca has some hiby on their site but the R6 2020 is not listed.
Thanks

You could always try something like Minimserver, which s a minimal UPNP/DLNA server for audio. It doesn't resample by default and the free version is all you need. If you need resampling, there is an add-in (Minimstreamer). I use it on my Synology NAS - there are versions for Windows, Mac, Linux, etc...

Email sent. Thank you.
Thanks, Plex does the trick, and UAPP doesn't resample the incoming audio stream via DLNA, so I can play back bitperfect DSD and high-res flac, even MQA. I only use the Plex app/Plexamp app when I'm out and about, since I can then access my server remotely anywhere in the world. UAPP doesn't support remote DLNA as far as I can tell. You could always try something like Minimserver, which s a UPNP/DLNA server for audio. I've already posted my video review, but for the curious, here's the written version.

Nice work! Couldn't agree more with the below two points you make:
Sharp edges around volume knob
Good, but not great with full-sized headphones.
EDIT: I would also add the following two points to the quibbles list:
-no adaptive brightness
-time/time zone won't sync via wifi no matter what I do

I'm sure it's plenty good with full size Grados and some others but obviously not designed for the harder to drive set top type phones.
I was surprised it is having some trouble to properly drive the Focal Utopia.
Which isn't among the hard to drive full size headphones out there.

Would anyone know if this model supports displaying Hebrew fonts properly? I can send a file for testing.
Thanks

It's not just bout specs. Some transducers need more current to better control or drive the motor. It may also sound better at a different gain setting but then you obviously run out of volume. What do they sound like? Less controlled bass? Thinner/less solid? Softer/rounded? Less bite? I've always thought the Utopia benefitted from more current. I'm personally a fan of Grado ps500(with large cushions and a lot of run in) or ps200 if you like a warmer sig. I have access but haven't tried either yet.I was surprised it is having some trouble to properly drive the Focal Utopia.
