also, one more question, the R6 2020 can output to a DAC/AMP over USB Output correct?

Had a brief listen- this DAP is fantastic. I am normally not a fan of the price/performance/features ratio of DAPs but Hiby have a winner on their hands.
It doesn't sound as good as my Hugo 2 but it definitely goes above and beyond what my Mojo is capable of.

Pairing with my MMR Thummim is awesome too- hopefully get similarly good results with the Focal Utopia (don't own a balanced Utopia cable, unfortunately);
My only real niggle is that annoying sharp edge near the volume wheel. Oh, and some of the translations during the firmware update process...

No issues here but my biggest gripe is connections on the the bottom. I prefer them up top and if the obvious pocket arrangement with volume access is up.
I’m sure size vs topology played in here so no biggie.

I actually think that having them at the bottom is an advantage given what I am used to. The volume wheel is pretty difficult to turn anyway and I keep having to take the DAP out of my pocket anyway.

Now I just need to figure out how to use Hiby Link on my iPhone 12 Pro.

I think this belongs more on a custom belt-clip pouch with openings top and bottom 😃 I used to make one myself for other things... admitted a hack job 😅 but was awesome

I see many purchased from Musicteck. Did I screw up by ordering direct from HiBy? Be honest now...
where are you located?

I thought there was a way to flip the screen 180 degrees so that the connections could be at the top. Unless I'm mistaking.

On another note, does anyone here think it would serve any benefit to the sound if I got an Ifi Hip Dac to use with the new R6? I use the the R6 with the Focal Elegia. When I put the R6 on medium gain it adds a slight hint of grain to the sound which I don't care for. I used a 4,4 balanced connection and I know that the Hip DAC/Amp has a 4.4 and is inexpensive.

Well, that's embarrassing... Musicteck is the US distributor after all and most benefits people in the US. I wouldn't say there's anything wrong with ordering from store.hiby.com (since both options are obviously allowed) but it might be hard for them to match the speed of service provided by Musicteck locally in the unlikely case that something goes wrong with the unit. 😅

Joe, Where would be the best place for me to order a R6 2020 being in Canada? Musicteck, Hiby, HifiGo or Linsoul? (also are HifiGo and Linsoul authorized resellers?)
electronicsforless.ca has some hiby on their site but the R6 2020 is not listed.

Thanks

There’s a setting where you can flip the screen the other way so that the connections are on top and the volume is on the bottom, if that’s any help to you.

I bought mine from Andrew at Musicteck. You send him an email with questions and within 2 hours he gives you the answer. I bought pre-order and he gave me exact details on when he expected to receive his shipment. And, they arrived on time as promised. Andrew is great. I got free shipping and no tax, too.

you can but then the V control is not reachable in your pocket. Strictly an on the go issue and really a minor inconvenience. I would just prefer less strain ton the cable and socket but I can always ask Joe Bloggs for a custom fanny pack. 😛I suppose that in some states, they could holster the thing.

If they could make the V control smoother/better/more easily adjusted in a future FW, I wouldn't mind.
