If you're on the go and want to listen to Qobuz or tidal via your phone's hot spot is a situation I can think of.R6 Pro had the same 'issue'. It's easily avoidable though - keep your phone away from the DAP! That said I get that better shielding is possible. I don't have any EMI with the R8 for example. But there's really no reason to keep your phone anywhere near the R6 when the R6 does all the streaming on its own.
That said, I just tried my R6 next to my Iphone xr and on top of my eero router with more efficient iems and a speaking track. I'm not hearing it so it's at least below the background white/pink noise of the recording on my R6. It's not like I can't hear very low level background air circulation/tape noise etc in the room etc. Just don't hear anything breaking through that. Here it is sitting on top of my EERO and pic taken with the phone 6" away. I'm not at all disputing what others are hearing but not a problem for me for some reason. This is a speaking track (gettin it started) with some minor background hiss from air or tape etc but if the issue is below this level, it's not one for me.
