ya the bose definitely didnt impress me. heard the hissing noise, and overall just felt like it was very high pitched.
 
Im going to look into those other headphones you listed and try to be set on a pair soon!

awesome. From what I told the best thing to do if you can is try them. If you look up local stores, you may find a headphone store near you. Me being unlucky and living in a small college town, had to just do a lot of research and so far have been pretty lucky with what I have. I wont ask where you live but if you are in the USA use yellow pages or something ^_^.

I really enjoy my 598s they are a really fun and super comfortable headphone, but if you like your music loud then listening in the library is out of the question. AKG 550 might be something to look at. Good luck!

not to drag this up but I hear Fischer Audio FA-003 have good passive sound isolation. Neutral sound as well.
