Probably they are genuine, and both sellers have positive feedback from their customers. Maybe the guys here can share thoughts...

The Shure's do have good bass? i thought that they where more neutral sounding.

edit: never mind, you were saying the M50s had good bass impact.

Do the M50s require a headphone amp, or do you think they will be ok out of my Cowon D2?

Go for the Koss Pro DJ 100. I like the styling and the sound. They sound unbelievably good for $80, but you need an amp to go with them. The Fiio E5 will suffice.  They have great bass; the sub bass and bass texture is great and not bloated, the upper mids is a bit forward and the highs are detailed and not fatiguing.

I'll second this .  love these headphones .  Really  good punch and excellent highs.   Though I strictly  use them for my stereo system headphones which is a Onkyo stereo amp .

Same. I've yet to find a CLOSED headphone under $200 I like more and I've been through maybe a dozen of them! Only thing under $200 I probably like just as much right now is the HD-598.

DJ100 really needs a decent (cheap) amp. Zune HD/Ipod Touch and an E5 at the bare minimum to be at their best. I love them with my Airhead.

I modded mine with some Akasa foam and recabled them and they sound even better now. Quite good for gaming too believe it or not.

Only thing with those is that most reviews say they arent very bass heavy. How much sound would semi open phones leak? for example, ive heard that the AKG K-240s are very good, but I cant be disturbing the people around me too much.

Yea, those all look very good, but ive heard great reviews about the Shure 440s and the sennheisers just about every where, those arent really that great?

I've got a pair of Sennheiser HD 428, and while they're great all around headphones, they're definitely not designed for bass heads. From what I've heard, most Senns aren't big on bass either, so you may want to stay away from them.
