I've done that on a few occasions.  You get some weird looks, but the sound is worth it.

What portable amps can even drive HP's like that? And I wouldnt want to risk bringing $1000 headphones out of the house really, just too many things that can happen :\.

I didn't use a portable amp.  It doesn't sound too bad straight from a 120gB Zune.

I think people who would want to rob you would be more inclined to rob you if you had the beats by dre rather than LCD.

I wasn't even talking about that really, more just the danger of damaging them. I wouldn't really expect anyone to know what they were and their value.

You guys are lucky, my school sucks. I have sighted about 50 Beats by Dre, 5 or 6 Skullcandy's, like 2 Grados, and a couple Bose. Nothing exciting over here T_T and I've listened to 2 Boses, and they are the cheapest ones >_<

I've seen 2 pairs of Grado's on campus, though there's probably more at the MAIN campus... And I even saw a highschool kid with a pair of 60's.

Saw a Sony ex1000 today on some pedestrian. First time I see these in public actually (surprising considering I've seen HD800's in the subway once)

In the AC Milan vs. Arsenal match they were showing players arrive and i said "Beats in 5....4...." and sure enough a player had a red pair

 
I saw some guy with AT on the bus, some cheap Sony and a pair of Dodger headphones

 
At Fry's i also noticed the "Perry Wang" or something collection on the end of an aisle, looking really similar to Beats, i guess everyone has their own line of headphones now?
