While at Kinokuniya today (Japantown Cherry Blossom festival yay), the song demo thing had some audio-technica's on it, no model number though. It just said professional studio monitor or something like that, and reminded me a LOT of the sony V6, except the driver housing was silver plastic and the flat parts were rounded instead of flat like the v6's, other than that everything else was just about identical. They sounded ok but the source was probably onboard from the (I'm guessing here) mini-itx board in the machine.

On my boat (I just about live there) I've seen one set of E4Cs, one set of E2Cs, one set of KSC-75s, one set of ER6s, one set of EX71s, and one set of UE5s. Unfortunately I've also seen about half a dozen Triports and Bose QCs and God knows how many ibuds. Very sad.

2nd Headphone sighting at my gym. A beautiful, hot young girl wearing a pair of PortaPros. A beautiful pair of headphones for the beautiful young lady, now ain't that a sight for sore eyes! I think I might've scared her with some excessive staring though.

Triport Guy on the 8 again these past few days.

Saw another guy on the 5, dressed in a black suit jacket, black jeans, and a cowboy hat, wearing some sort of Koss clip-on earbud. Really shiny.

Walked past a guy with K81DJs on in the basement level of a building I have classes in (UMass.) Needless to say, I was pretty surprised and pleased.


Another odd couple sightings on one particular model that I don't quite "get" is the AKG K44...which are open, circumaural, and look like they were pulled from the early 80's. Seen once in the library and a couple times on the bus.

here in switzerland, everybody seems to be wearing those cheap sony headphones... mdr-v150 or mdr-v250. I dunno why they are so popular - they got very boomy bass. or maybe thats why they're so popular

edit: and I'm going for a walk with my new (well.. newly bought, actually 30 years old) Yamaha Orthodynamic HP-1. surely never saw anybody with these walking around

I just saw a guy on the subway with a pair of UE Super.fi 5 Pros in his ears. and yes, he sorta DID look like he had baby carrots stuck in his ears!!! All I kept thinking was "Do I really look like that"?!?!? But I did the FS mod on them so I guess I don't. I was gonna tell the guy on the train about the mod but the way people are in NYC he probably woulda thought I was either hitting on him or wanted to chop him up into little pieces. So... I kept to myself. ; )
