Ah, but they wouldn't sound as good if they were cheaper.
MSRP at Sennheiser USA is $1,799.95. (http://www.sennheiserusa.com/dynamic-stereo-headphones-high-sound-quality_500319)
And here I thought prices would decline over time.
It seems in Europe they are cheaper. Saw some on some HD800s WITH and omega headphone stand at some Spanish website for 1067 some dollars if you converted the euros to usd.

price in Europe has been firm since the release at 1k. Euro also went up and down
What an terrible decision since everyone is going crazy over the cheaper LCD-2's. . .

But is still 1K Euro they raised the price from 1399.00 to 1799..0 that a 400.00 increase and insanity. I bet street prices now will be whatever you can haggle since they are selling under list and being discounted. Foolish but in the end may get them cheaper from dealers and no matter what you think there are dealers selling for under list both here and in Europe.
That's just getting a bit silly. These higher end flagship headphones with "proper" pricing (relative to performance) make more sense at $600-700 tops, imo.
