MSRP at Sennheiser USA is $1,799.95. (http://www.sennheiserusa.com/dynamic-stereo-headphones-high-sound-quality_500319)

And here I thought prices would decline over time.

LOL! The hd800 are not limited edition, right? how can they jack up the price over time? sounds a bit greedy tbh

Agee that not a smart sennheiser move but US Dollar is weak and may have something to do with it but if they are selling them for under the list the old agreement is out the window so now if is what ever you negotiate for them  would not be surprised to see them at under 1K at JR soon if you haggle

But is still 1K Euro they raised the price from 1399.00 to 1799..0 that a 400.00 increase and insanity. I bet street prices now will be whatever you can haggle since they are selling under list and being discounted. Foolish but in the end may get them cheaper from dealers and no matter what you think there are dealers selling for under list both here and in Europe.

Why is this price thing so interesting? Usually the sellers and marketeers are playing tricks on the consumers whatever the product. Why and how may be interesting but for me it does not make the HD800 less overpriced.

I haven't found a dealer in Europe that lists HD800 below 1k or 999.
