Quite the stable you've got!

Do both of them have big ear pads that don't squash your ears ?

Thanks! I am eagerly awaiting to see what AKG will do....waiting...waiting....
I just came across my old post here about the "new" AKG flagships....sadly 16 months later all we have are the Quincy Q701s. Boy were we wrong!
In your best CSNY:
"...gonna be a long long long long time..."
I still enjoy the K1000/701 on occasion though
I've always wanted to try the K1000s. I have owned the K701s and began to really get a hate on for them. I think it's fair to say that Harmon has pretty much killed any innovation at AKG.
I agree about harmon. I thought the K701 was a good headphone when i owned it but does need the right setup. The bumps got to me after a couple hours but all in all I owned them over 1 year until i got insane.

I bet you would like the K701 if you heard it out of your Lyr.
The K1000 is a very nice option to have if you can drive an HE-6, but it's pretty picky if you want to get good dynamic extension out of it.
