Yeah, I'm the same way...MS-2>HD600>HD650.

People who are really into Sennheiser headphones go more HD650>HD600>MS-2, though...they find the HD600 and MS-2 too "harsh" and grainy.

Hard to do a blind test with headphones unless the headphones feel exactly the same on your head and you have a bored friend to accompany you.

Amps are different because you can get an ABx switch box, if you have one handy.

I'm not opposed to blind testing; it's just not always that easy to do.

I have heared an anped HD650,and I own a HD600 now which I don't have a amp this moment.

IMO,they are both excellent phones, the difference is dued to everyone's favor. And I think HD600 gives me what I want,it touches me.So I would glad to say I prefre HD600 than HD650.I hope amped HD600 could bring me more surprises.

A nice (tubed) amp like the WooAudio3 would make a nice improvement.

I said it before, but here it goes again. I just put an order through for the HD650's and will be dedicating next weekend to comparing them side-by-side. I can't wait to finally hear them both at the same time. I have a set of BlackGold (almost burned in) I'll be using for the test. I am probably going to stick with the higher-end source (SACD) to do the test, 'cause I know thay both will shine.

Cheers!

No preference either way. Without eq they both have warts. With a bit of revoicing and enhancement they are both astonishing, and pretty much equal. For the money I would opt for the HD600 with a DEQ over a naked HD650 any day of the week.

Havent heard the 600 so I cant vote. However, with that said, I really like my 650s.

To me, the statement is reversed. I feel the 600's are more neutral and less colored, and the 650's are more for listening enjoyment

Both are not studio heqadphones. The 650 is an evolution of the 600, better in many ways. I personally would go for the 650 and an aftermarket cable.

Also would say that the 650 sounds more natural.

natural sounding doesn't have to mean neutral.

Okay thanks for your help and I would to ask another question regarding these 2 headphones .Some are saying that 650s are really muddy and bloated in the bass is this an overexaggeration? Does anybody think the bass is accurate ,tight, and detailed or is this their weakness? I know this may be subjective but would like to know others opinions.

depends, depends, depends....

on your rig..especially your interlinks, your cd-recording, aftermarket cable......Some really good interlinks tame the hd650 in the bass-segment and make em shine.
