Like the Sennheiser MWT3 customers getting given a pair of MTW4 (myself included) , Bose were giving customers an upgrade to the Ultra due to the issues with the QCII's but I kept putting it off due to complacency so they are out of warranty now.

So the Pearl Clips fit my wife really well. She has small ears and most IEMs don't fit her worth damn, but because of her ear shap the Pearls simply go in and don't really love. So I got my Shokz Openfit 2 back!!!

Have say the lack.of availability of the Opendots One in Canada may be a blessing as reusing the Openfit 2 reminds me why I liked them so much. They are super comfy for me, great battery life, and that button design is so darn simple and effective. Playing around with the Pearls tell me how much I don't like touch interfaces for this style of products and almost every clip model today has compromises regarding the controls.

Might just me be justifying in my own head why I don't NEED or care that the Opendots One are not available in Canada yet. But the Openfit 2 really does what I want and they are also super comfy with zero fiddling once hooked to the ear. I was constantly fiddling with the Pearl Clips and also tweaking the Aerofit 2.

So think unless my wife changes her mind I will just enjoy the Openfit 2 and stop searching for a while...

Been using the Openfit 2 all day and I really love having music as a sound track while I listen to the world around me. A lazy Monday holiday here in Canada and my 6K walk through the Calgary streets in the suburb I live in was so enjoyable, hearing all the birds, dogs, even cars as I pounded out my steps. It feels good to be integrated into my surroundings and have its sounds join with the music. Not as good in the downtown core. But for the burbs I like it 😀.

The Openfit 2 really nails the signature that is best for walking around like this.

Grumble, grumble… Sent my Beoplay Elevens in for service because the right earbud thought “battery life” was just a joke. Never worked from the moment I got them.

I shipped them off all shiny and copper, and guess what came back? Boring black and silver. Like sending a sports car to the shop and getting a minivan back.

Chatted with customer service on Saturday—fingers crossed they make it right. Manifesting ✨shiny copper comeback✨!

Wow. They tried to do right by you and replace the defective set, but… yeah, that’s disappointing

I also "impulse" bought the xiaomi 15 ultra,- did not know about some of the xiaomi quirks. So somethings will be missed, and cant have it all.
Most expensive phone ever bought, mostly because its become impossible to get everything and was irritated that every phone had some feature I wanted missing.
Turns out this one also has some, but oh well.

Previous motorola "flagship" is eol after 3 years and have bluetooth issues with new devices, no wonder it was 60%off 3 years ago.

Updated my old lg g7 to lineageos android 15 and dap\phone for hiking.

Tried the camera on the ultra, and its the best I ever had, the motorola was bad from the start.
I surprisingly haven't had any BT issues with the 15 ultra, but obviously there have been some issues and i didn't consider that Thursday when i posted, but Xiaomi has sent i believe 4 updates for Bluetooth specifically. And I do have a few things i don't like, i can't find a way to force LHDC when I have an LHDC capable product paired. For example, I have some dyson Zones that are LHDC 5 capable, but they connect to the 15 ultra via AAC athen I have to switch to LHDC but they switch to v3.4. USB OTG is a nogo on the 15 ultra however. lots of issues. i have tried lots of products that route, including some LG Tone free FP9 and it caused issues with my BT keyboard.
Sounds like we got the pHone for the same set of reasons, and yeah definitely the most I've spent on a phone as well.

It's May 20, 2025 - is there anything worth buying/trying? As much as I love my Rex 5, the fit issues are growing tiresome. They really do not stay put if you move around. Not expecting these to be running earbuds, but it doesn't take much for them to slip.

Did you try different eartips, to me that made all the difference on fit.
Just a few things I have around the house. Recommendations are welcome.

Is $149 for the Sony's Amazon renewed worth it? Looking for a cycling bud. Can ANC be disabled? How's the fit on these?

If you're asking about the XM5's, then I'll say there was zero chance the tips provided in the box would fit me. Not even close, and be aware the tips are
some sort of hybrid cross between silicon and foam. However, once I found two tips that sealed properly the sound is excellent. I'm convinced by Sony's XM5 and Sennheiser's MT4, that well engineered high quality single drivers are going to be competitive to multi driver for a long time.

Yes. I can help! I found tips and I run with them.

I tested about 10 eartips to find the right ones and they made a world of difference. I run with them now and they fit as well as any I have.

Here is are the four or five that really fit well. They all worked.

- Acoustune AEX70 - These are the ones I chose to use. A little hard to find. - I found them on AliExpress where they are less expensive.
- Baroque Eletech - People like these a lot. If you were just to try one, it might be these. Bought them on AliExpress where they were less expensive.
- Dunu S&S - on Amazon
- AZLA SednaEarfit Light Short - These are hard to get on. but I did—the tightest fit, but a little uncomfortable for me and the reviews on Amazon said the same thing. On Amazon
- Divinus Velvet Wide Bore - People love these with the Rex5, but they did not work for me. - On Amazon

The problem with the Rex5 is it's a very wide and short nozzle.

For TWS for cycling you might try the AZ 100's and the Beoplay's EX or Elevens. I love my Elevens.
