@galaxygrrl received free TOTL Technics TWS from Bezos …. Nice!
My original post got trampled in the comment stampede—but quick update: I just flipped ‘em on eBay to help fund my shiny new Sonos Arc Ultra. 💸 Look, I know I’m in the minority here, but what was I really gonna do with a third pair of TWS collecting dust? And let’s be honest—home theater upgrades don’t pay for themselves. 😉

Also… still waiting (not so patiently) for the Amadeus. John, we love a slow reveal, but come on. Time to get that slow boat moving faster. Idea for you below.

Now for the fun part: after testing a whole herd of earbuds—7 or 8, I lost count—this video just so happens to review the two I actually kept. The Beoplay Elevens held their own surprisingly well against the Rex5, which (of course) walked away with the SQ crown. No shade there—it’s just that good. 😏

But let’s give the Beoplays their flowers: sleek, comfy, balanced, and basically built for grown-up listening. The Rex5, on the other hand? That thing is an audiophile creature. —aggressive, detailed, and unapologetically fun.

I’ve been wondering—has anyone actually found a TWS app that nails it? Like, the perfect combo of great functionality and a slick, polished and intuitive UI?

I love the Beoplay app—it’s got that clean, Apple-y feel I’m a sucker for—but let’s be real, it’s pretty barebones. Might not cut it for the hardcore EQ crowd.

I remember liking the Gemini 2 app—felt polished, didn’t make me want to throw my phone though the Gemini buds themselves did.

Technics? Super functional, no complaints there… but also zero joy.

Noble’s and Sony’s apps kinda leave me cold.

And the Pi8? Honestly, that one was rough.

So—who’s cracked the code? Is there a unicorn app out there that’s actually both smart and sexy?
and the Oscar for the best design goes to...

I've only ever had two pairs of TWS that I alternate between. I'm pretty confused about what to do regarding Amadeus. They have to be better than the Rex5 for me to want to keep them. Or sound almost as good and have a PI rating. In that case, I'd keep both. :)

iFi Go Pod + CIEM combo is tough to beat. This combo replaced my previous DAP and CIEM combo.

Before buying the fiio utsw2025, I looked at buying the iFi Go Pod - No app with EQ was a deal breaker for me, especially as using an iPhone for a lot of the listening.

I feel like the Go Pod simply has far more power and a cleaner background to work with - The Go Pods are pretty transparent for me, and the ability to swap connectors to suit different IEMs are a godsend.

1) Im not sure if I'm really that bald. I shave my head as a "pre-emptive bald." I'd rather be bald by choice, than let nature take it's course.

2) Amadeus information will be released within 24 hrs
